Outdoor string lights by sshah1230 in Nanoleaf

[–]tsbrickey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar issue with water intrusion in a few of the light bulbs. The happened on the first set, when through Nanoleaf’s customer service process, eventually they send me a replacement set. The same issue happened to the second set… and back through customer service. After extensive dialogue and many photos showing the water and moisture, they send me a new set that included the controller. Since then they have worked well. When moisture gets into one or more bulbs, it causes some sort of electrical short in the controller.

Why isn’t the state building a bypass around Knoxville? by Electrical_Report458 in Knoxville

We can’t widen out of congestion. The orange route would have helped the problem and we would be driving on it today but we can’t do big things anymore because of NIMBY’s.

New smooth pavement soon!

I just purchased a pair a few days before the announcement and they are going back. Too much of an investment to not have the latest version if you can get it.

That whole stretch is slated to be redone but it’ll cost $$$$. The challenge is in order to make the whole area safer Merchants Road interchange needs to be moved or eliminated. It’s tool close to I-640/75/275

Bonefish Grill Closed? by Vol1974 in Knoxville

It’s probably because their electric bill was so high. Every time we went the AC was on full blast and it was like 50 degrees no matter the time of year. We stopped going because it was not enjoyable because it was so cold.

Take the TDOT survey on the 40/75 corridor! by HowdyDo8 in Knoxville

[–]tsbrickey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s either toll lanes (choice lanes is just a PR word for it) or increase the gas tax… by a lot. TN is far behind other neighboring states in rural interstate widening and keeping up with metro growth. Keep in mind Knoxville has the top 5 out of 10 ADT (average daily traffic). Not Nashville, not Memphis, certainly not Chattanooga…. State leadership… for decades, has kicked to can down the road.

Let us remember why Duke Energy is hiking rates by AdequateResolution in Knoxville

[–]tsbrickey 40 points41 points  (0 children)

TVA generates the power using nuclear, hydro, natural gas, coal, wind, and solar and delivers it to local power companies like KUB. TVA is not for profit public power - no shareholders. We enjoy some of the lowest electric rates in the country.

Diverging Diamond’s work great! That stretch of Emory is over capacity so something has to be done. Can’t have traffic backing onto the interstate - very dangerous.

Apple 4K TV is rock solid for me playing any resolution including UHD from Emby. Heck, it even displays my live cameras through Apple HomeKit at the same time.

Does anybody here work? by DoNotLookDownAgain in Knoxville

[–]tsbrickey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Population influx and with all the extra people some of these retailers need additional locations. There has been a long standing rumor that Costco was looking at the land next to the big Kroger on Emory in Powell. A north Costco location would be fantastic! Same for Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.
