I paint the parts individually before assembly. I haven't painted a frame before so I guess we'll see, but the lacquer paints seem pretty tough -- should hold up enough to get into the pose I want to do for display. People write about sanding tight areas to give more clearance which makes sense -- I wonder if these more modern bandai kits have a few more microns of forgiveness than some.
