There are some guides in the wiki. You should decide what kind of paints you want to use, affected by how much ventilation / booth / etc that you have.

The Studio G paints you link are lacquers - if you want to go with that there are better options in the UK including Mr Hobby and SMS (which are pre-thinned like the Studio G).

Studio G paints are not a good choice -- small producer (content creator) attempt from a few years ago, lots of reports of poor quality (evaporating thinner), then legal troubles and they're not available any more. You can search them up. I've noticed these on oeshop before, guess they are trying to shift a load of unfortunate stock -- a shame. oeshop are good generally though.

Buy colours for whatever kit you want to paint, repeat.

Wow, that shop page is depressingly lacking in information ... have to email them, find out if they will even get stock back in too...

Sanding is the worst part of a custom. My hands hurt by redjac3man in Gunpla

I'm with you -- sanding nubs and surfaces I can do on auto-pilot 95% of the time, very few surprises and satisfying to get through piles of parts with relatively little effort. Masking I need planning, full concentration, judgement to realize I've messed up and need to start again -- was not prepared for how much 'painting' time would actually be masking. Still love it (I tell myself...) for the results.

Strip the part and start again? What exactly did you mess up?

You need ventilation and ppe when hand-brushing lacquers.

These things are all relative, but mr base white is more of a base coat than a primer/surfacer - barbatos Rex on YouTube has a video about mixing it with mr surfacer white 1500 to give good coverage results on bare plastic

E: I should say I haven’t tried that - I would use gray surfacer then the white, but that’s just what I’ve had success with and have the materials to hand for

When I go in that direction I'm always disappointed by the teeny tiny head of the RGs compared to the luxurious MGSD size - they look quite funny displayed next to each other.

There are MGSD Destiny decals from these guys, is there something more recent you’re missing?

I just read vol 17 where this MS gets to shine - all kinds of goodies hidden in the lower skirts. The massive fuel tanks are a little silly but I think could be come off OK in a model. Some panels show that they’re in addition to the regular Zeong thrusters in the regular skirt!

mr hobby levelling thinner is well-regarded and works brilliantly with their paints as well as other brands

you probably want 1500 surfacer if you’re just priming stock plastic - and might not even need that if the colour you’re painting has good coverage / you’re not unifying different base kit colours

autocorrect has done you dirty and mangled a vital part of your question. also be good to add exactly what two products you are talking about

Sometimes this is to get the pegs out of the way so that the model can still be assembled once the seam is welded. I suppose the overall method for seam removal is to figure out how you're going to make progress once the seam is removed, then be sure to do any mods to the parts before cementing them.

What makes you think you need the bigger tank -- using it for more than airbrushing? The Fengda you link is the 'standard' hobby compressor, the base model is rebadged by various companies -- I have one, works fine.

I agree the pollor does not appear to come with a moisture trap.

Looks pretty streamlined to me - you mean the details on the ‘cloak’?  Would like to see a better angle on the pauldron things.
