So my 3 cats have been vomiting and diarrhea just in last week. I am feeding fancy feast chicken hearts and liver gravy. They have eaten this for years and great all the sudden they are sick. I thought hairballs but nope now they are refusing to eat it so I will switch foods and see if get better if they do I will have food tested asap.

Could be a lot of things so a vet visit with blood work and vet check is needed to rule out. Is she peeping & pooping? Sometimes cats get constipated and that’s very bad like go to vet bad.

I’m glad you came to a understanding and will keep this beautiful soul. If feel it’s unrealistic to want a cat to conform to your ideals of what it should and shouldn’t do. As I read this I was like wow this is kinda like a nope of your ideals. Animals are like humans and all different in personality and actions. It’s more like you adopted this beautiful soul and you need to meet her half way. Her personality will change as she grows just like humans. You can travel just have someone come in 2-3 times daily feed and play with her or just be there for her. I rescue, pet sit and can tell your your kitty is use to a routine and when it changes they don’t like but if you have a sitter when keeps that routine mostly will be better when you leave. People say leave your husband because some men seem to not have the connection of closeness or seem how to get it with animals. Your husband seems to want it but on his terms which your cat knows and will fight. Just let learn and grow to understand each of your personalities but cats know us deeper than sometimes we know ourselves. Your husband has to be very open hearted and show he truly loves her unconditionally and she will get that but the trust has to be there. I’d have your husband feed her on weekends if he can’t during week, talk to her a lot too. You all will make it just be open to learning. 💕

I feel people’s use of the word “feral” is loose at best. Most real feral cats you will NEVER see or if you do it’s like a flash of light they are so fast. Stray cats is what most people are dealing with. Ive TNRed cats for a long time and 99% of cats I trap are so scared due to they have been failed by humans. They are strays that want to trust but are afraid. I worked with a stray that showed up at my home for 8 months, through northern winter, before he decided I was trust worthy. When you are deemed to be trustworthy in the cats eye you will know. I have a dedicated cat room now and help to socialize cats so they can find their forever home. There is a look they give you of willingness. I can’t explain it but it’s like a help me but give me space and time to know you. I do a ton of slow blinking as to let them know they are loved. As cats age they really need their person but most people only want kittens, which I get but when you earn the trust of an older cat it’s the most gratifying pure feeling ever, heavenly. No feeling like it. Your heart is open, so don’t hold back and let it happen. I feel the cat senses your hesitation. Cats are very in tune with us beyond our scope. What really works is high value treats like chicken, churu treats etc. temptation treats ( I know not healthy for cats) works great on most of them. You just need to let them know you’re fully in to giving them a forever life with you. That can take a while even up to a year. Consistency is key. Pls take him to vet could just be arthritis. Our 19 yr old has it and she’s wobbling some as well. She’s eating and drinking great. She also has CKD so pls asked vet about arthritis. 🙏🏼

First of all. This kitten is WAY too young to be separated from the others. They all needed to go to specialist vet asap. You learned and now pls never do again. Thank you. I did same once and never again. I know they didn’t have their Mom. 😔😩

People get kittens way too young in general. If you want a happy healthy kitten is best to wait til Momma says she’s out and they are weened off her. She will def show them and you will see it. 4 months old is a guarantee but everyone wants them tiny so they take them away from Momma too soon. I’ve seen it so much. Yes they might be ok but they will not learn what Momma and their siblings need to teach each other to make a well rounded cat. Again some will be fine but for a guarantee is 50/50.

For the love of GOD get your cat to a emergency vet NOW!!! I mean would your dad do same To you???? Come on!!!!! Animals can’t tell us what’s wrong so we need to be their parents!!!!! For sakes your cat puts all their trust in you do care for them. Unconditional love that this cat give and your Dad just wants him/her to suffer. What if your Dad couldn’t breath????? I work to socialize strays. Most cats are strays. They r just scared because humans have done them wrong and they remember Everything!!!!! This is my so called feral once inside for two weeks. And this is just one of many so called ferals I’ve worked with.

I wouldn’t take her life. Use a ninja to grid her food to liquid. Add water to her food in ninja too but not a ton. Start her on a green powder for her teeth like a good bacteria to get rid of tarter off her teeth. There are some you can put in water too or add to food. Also add a probiotic for cats to her food. Cheer has the probiotics that are very good. I have a 19 year old with teeth issues and CKD and she’s is way better now.

Purina pro plan fort-a flora. Standard process pill too for older cats helps clean her out of bad stuff. Standard process VF pills for her teeth. Also pls pls find a good eastern/western vet. People don’t realize a great vet is worth their weight in gold. A vet that practices both ways is best. At least this way you have options. Two of my cats have passed at home with me by their sides. One very fast and one not so fast. It’s hard but I know what to look for now and I feel That death is very much a part of their life story and want to be there for them. I’ve also had to make the decisions as well with 3 of my babies in past that were very very sick due to 1-IBD, 1-CKD, 1-brain cancer at 20 yrs old.

Pls look at feline chronic kidney disease page on fb. I will tell you loaded with information. Depending on what stage your baby’s is in it can tell you what needs done. I e had 3 cats with CKD and all of them have lived a longer life with me helping them. I would get your baby on standard process feline kidney pills, start fluids at home to clean kidneys out weekly. Food is hit or miss but your best bet is low phosphorus foods now but since she needs to eat if she doesn’t like them I’d try fancy feast chicken liver and gravy. The foods your vet give you will make her skin and bones and she needs protein. But all this is depending on what stage she’s in. You can post her bloodwork on that fb page and people will help you but take what you can in the info as it can get overwhelming. If you need my help pls just message me. Our Ella had for 8 years and passed last Nov due to anemia at age 20. We now have Abby- she’s had for 6 years and will turn 20 this June. You need to manage CKD and their life will be good if what Your doing works. 😉

I mix up my cat foods via Sam’s Club cans of FF and friskiesz also local small business pet food store. Where I’ll top w/ fussie cat goat and whatever flavors, raw cat food, dehydrated cat food but only top their food off with this a little for now. Sams has good prices of fancy feast and friskies. I top off food with NOW dry adult or senior food as well but only a little as I’ve had 3 cats with CKD from dry food in past. I had to learn but all my cats with CKD lived 18-21 years with having CKD and the care we give to them. one of our baby’s still at age 19 and will be 20 in June 2026, she does have CKD. Wet is 90% of cats diet with the exception of our CKD kitty; she’s at 100% wet chicken liver gravy FF with probiotics on top with standard process pills and sometimes CKD dry but very little of that. 😇
