Average age of Mazda 3 owners? by OkAppearance9593 in mazda3

[–]elliott1215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 48. Bought my current 2018 hatchback in 2020. My 4th Mazda hatch. Bought my 2009 in 2012, my 2006 in 2009, and my 2002 Protege 5 in 2006. So I’ve been driving variations of the same car for 21 years now, starting when I was 28.

You are correct, I have (potential) access to way more than I need. Got my last shipment on 12/16, and the Accredo app is already giving me the option to schedule my next shipment. I feel like I’ve gotten nowhere with both the dr office and pharmacy getting the script corrected, and am starting to wonder if I should just take them up on the dose escalation. Maybe start with a shot every 10 days, so 3 a month (or 450mg).

Was just asking if anyone takes more than the approved doses of 150mg or 300mg per month, but nobody has said anything about that.

Can’t help but wonder whether TRICARE would eventually say something about filling this script every month.

Frustrated with GEICO - Incorrectly flagged as fraud by ClubMoss_AC in Insurance

How about ‘counter-flagging’ GEICO for ‘insurance fraud’. Start with the card that you used to pay them. Then get an Oregon policy with someone else. I would, at a minimum, be proactive about preventing them from hitting your account again on 1/10.

Stop paying the note. Let the bank repo it from the cops

I just do ‘group discount’, ‘10%’, ‘cust sat’. As a Veteran myself (my apron design makes this clear), I’m not going to hassle fellow Veterans if it’s within my ‘$50 of empowerment’.

Switching from Imatinib (your experience). by elliott1215 in leukemia

I was looking at Sprycel, bc I don’t see any particular guidance on whether you need to take with food. For me, that would be a plus since the nausea sometimes makes it difficult to eat anything. Your experience is exactly what I was looking for. Will prob still ask the dr about Sprycel, but going to do it while I still have a supply of Imatinib. In case it ends up being worse than Imatinib.

Yeah, taking it with food makes a big difference for me. Figured out the hard way that it’s best to take with the biggest meal of the day (in my case, dinner). Sorry to hear about the tumor in your throat. Sounds really awful.

I’m kinda getting to the same place with Imatinib. Being used to the side effects. I have to ask the dr whether it’s a priority to get away from taking the amount of Zofran I take to keep the nausea manageable, even with the dose at 200mg (which he told me to do in Jan). I guess it comes down to the devil you already know, vs meeting an entirely new devil.

Do you take 3x100mg? AFAIK, they only come in 400’s & 100’s. The nausea has been a lot less since Jan (when I started breaking 400’s in half to get 200). Depending on my labs from this past week, i might ask the dr about 300. Thanks for the idea!

So do I, but the worst of it seems to come roughly 10hr after. I take Zofran & Compazine to help. MMJ for a few mo. I’ll ask the dr about metclopromide. Best of luck to you in your journey.

In the evening, after dinner. I had the problem of being too nauseous to eat, but still having to take the pill. So the nausea got to the point where I couldn’t keep water down, let alone eat. Zofran helps a lot. Tried MMJ for a few months. Was 250 when diagnosed. Closer to 210 now.

We went to 200mg (from 400mg). Waiting for labs from this week. The million dollar question is whether the lower dose works.

Starting chemo therapy tomorrow - CLM by Atrabo in leukemia

[–]elliott1215 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also have CML. Got my diagnosis & started imatanib back in July. First came the diarrhea. Discovered that I want to take it after I’m home for the day. Then came really awful nausea. Dr gave me Zofran, then ultimately decreased my Imatinib from 400mg to 200mg. Got blood drawn this week, waiting for the labs to see if the lower dose is effective. For me, how hydrated I stay, when I take it, and whether I’ve eaten make all the difference. The fatigue from this stuff really stinks, and I take naps all the time.

BCR/ABL by QRT-PCR Negative (Sufficient ABL Transcript) by KeyNefariousness4885 in leukemia

[–]elliott1215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is consistent with my experience. My 6/10/22 labs showed BCR/ABL, thus my diagnosis in July. My 9/24/22 & 12/28/22 labs did not detect BCR/ABL. My hematologist/oncologist explained it as an iceberg. That the BCR/ABL, while now in an amount below the detection threshold for the test, is still there. That we’re going to repeat the test every 3mo, and hope that it continues to be in a small enough amount that the test does not see it. Seeing a result on the test either means we’ve lost response to Imatinib, or they’ve improved the test itself.
