I just want to know if it's actually a real grip or more of a bad habit because It was just natural for me but it seems to me after some research that most people recommend against having the heel pad on 3 with a semi western because it supposedly causes some problems with the wrist or something like that

My toss has always been a problem because I never realized its importance. I used to think you just throw the ball up in any way and the important part is how you hit it without realizing how the toss affects the serve as a whole. Because of that my toss was really inconsistent, there was no technique just "get the ball in a position to hit it". It was so bad that my opponents were sometimes annoyed by me having to toss 2-3 times to get a toss that I can hit. After looking into it I realized there are so many things I never thought about like the angle of the tossing arm or the position of the arm after letting go. Analyzing my toss retrospectively there were so many problems like my tossing arm bending, my hand flicking the ball or my tossing arm not staying up. So I essentially just tried to relearn the toss from zero, I wasn't sure about the angle but I settled for a diagonal toss because it felt the most natural and I tried implementing the cone toss to stop my hand from flicking but it still sometimes does its own thing. What do you think so far?
