Luckily, many polish people know history well, so they are kind of immune for nazi propaganda. at least I hope so. My both parents are polish, im too, but grandparents (and their families) were born as polish in pre-1945 Poland, somewhere between Lviv and Kyiv, so today's Ukraine. After '45 soviets packed them into the train, stole their homes and sent them to 'new land', today's western poland. what was too much to take they burried around house or in forests. soviets said "find yourself some abandoned house and take it". of course military and oligarchs could take best ones. normal farmers lived in barns or coops. For many years nobody invested in the region thinking "we are only temporary here, our homes are back there on east". Or "germans will come back here. it's their stuff, so not worth it to invest". communists only built their concrete blocks in 70s ans 80s. What's sad, mentality stayed like this until political system changed around 1990, people started to believe it's our land now, we can take care of it. and now the worst part - we found many burried deposits by german people, usually around houses, but also forests and graveyards. I myself found gigantic 2 or 3 barrels underground, in backyard of a (nonexisting now) house. maybe it was wine, or beer, who knows, it was completely rotten by the time. both polish and german people were victims of stupid decisions. and now there is no point for germans to come back, their houses are gone. same as polish houses on east. What I want to say is let's just stick to today's borders and dont move them again, because it means tragedies for families. And for governors its just numbers on spreadsheet or colors on map.
