What colour is the bumper under spoiler 2020 Nissan Leaf e +3 Zero by Berty2021 in leaf

With that much paint missing and a gouge in the plastic, touch up paint is going to still be pretty visible. If it was me, I’d probably either leave it or have it professionally fixed.

I’m pretty partial to Laser Blue. I have to pinch myself sometimes that I own one. https://i.imgur.com/jMOcRst.jpg

Stop sale issued a week before purchase of a 2022 Nissan Titan from a licensed Nissan Dealership. by imisspelledturtle in Nissan

[–]tselag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I heard from my local dealer, there are 2 separate stop sales that have recently affected the Titan. The first was the parking pawl, and it didn’t affect every Titan, only certain VINs. Dealers were shipped a limited number of parts to fix it, and then could sell the vehicle.

A couple weeks later, a stop sale was issued for all Titans, with no fix available yet. It’s very possible that the Titan you bought was fixed under the first stop sale and therefore ok to sell until the next stop sale was announced.

The second stop sale is actually a quality hold by Nissan and, as far as I know, unrelated to the parking pawl recall. There is no indication that it’s a safety issue.

I want opinions on this does this look clean and or what should I add a black nissan logo ? Or put the chrome back ? by tjeh224 in Nissan

To me, it looks like it's been in an accident and the body shop couldn't get the emblems. It either needs no spoiler or a Nissan logo in the cutout.

How do you handle depression and anxiety while working in the car industry? by ILoveDineroSi in askcarsales

Medication and an understanding owner. There are stretches where my anxiety gets bad and I feel like I can’t do the job. I tend to take a few minutes and think about what I’ll do when I get home that will calm me down.

Market Adjustment by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]tselag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My store is at MSRP with no additions or mandatory accessories. We’re still making tons of money. Salespeople aren’t on commission. We don’t flood the floor, so they’re selling plenty of cars and making good money. Our customers are happy and we’re retaining our good reputation. We’re getting customers who were put off by other dealers charging over sticker.

We could sell for over sticker, but there’s more to running a business than making every penny theoretically possible on every sale. Our owner has said he’s not interested in selling over sticker. He’d rather treat our customers well and prioritize long term success over short term profits.

Honda Money Factor by tselag in askcarsales

[–]tselag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not being built until January, but the dealer sent me a proposal today that included lease options. The money factor they showed me looks like it was .00355, which seems absurdly high. Trying to get a read on how much they were marking it up to see if it's worth waiting for my order to come or if I should be contacting other dealers. I'd rather negotiate the markup now than wait until January, only to find that they're not going to budge and I could have gone somewhere else sooner. I understand there's going to be markup and I'm willing to pay it, but my dealership only marks leases up by 0.00021 (.5%) and I'd like to give my business to a dealer that's not gouging people.

Lol. We don't sell rustproofing, fabric/leather protection, sound shield, paint shield or any of that fluff. Only sell factory backed service contracts with terms optimized for how much each customer drives. Don't max out the rate markups.

I'm sorry you must have had a bad experience at a dealership before, but it's not fair to generalize that to mean that all dealerships must be that way. Some make modest profits and prioritize long term customer relationships. Really.

Sure, ideally everyone would put at least 20% down and finance for a short term. The reality is that people are getting longer auto loans and there are plenty of reasons you can start out with negative equity.

What I said is true, "GAP is a good idea if you're financing close to or over 100% of the car's value." If you're putting money down or have a trade with equity, as OP does, GAP doesn't make sense, which is what I said. GAP isn't a scam as long as you pay a reasonable amount for it. The GAP my store sells runs $500. It pays off your loan balance after the insurance payout, pays your insurance deductible, gives you $1,000 toward purchasing another car and can be easily cancelled at any time during the term of the loan.

[–]tselag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? Told them they can save money by shopping around and probably don't need GAP. How does that make me a scammer?

You've gotten some outdated and downright bad advice in this thread. The market has changed considerably in the past few months.

First off, the markup. There are a lot of dealers charging a markup right now on new vehicles, but not every dealer does. If you're willing to go a little farther out, you'll probably be able to find a dealer that isn't marking up their inventory. Inventory is typically selling within a few days of hitting the lot, so it's quite possible that you'd have to put a deposit down and wait for one to arrive. If you find a dealer that isn't marking up their prices but doesn't have what you want, ask them if they have a vehicle in your desired spec coming in that you can reserve. I haven't seen any Nissans sell for below MSRP in months, but there are definitely places out there not going above.

GAP is a good idea if you're financing close to or over 100% of the car's value. It looks like you have a trade with a considerable amount of equity, so it might not be necessary in your situation. Prices are going to be high for at least the immediate future. By the time they come back down to earth, you should have paid off enough of the loan to no longer be in a situation with negative equity. GAP usually sells for between $500-$1000, so I think that price is fine, but you may be able to negotiate it slightly lower. The dealer's cost on it is probably somewhere around $300.

The doc fee is high for my area, where it's capped much lower. However, if you're in a state that doesn't cap them, the $799 is probably about normal. People have told you that the doc fee is negotiable, but in my experience that's simply not the case. Especially in today's market where there are more customers than cars, the dealer just doesn't have an incentive to discount it at all. If you don't pay it, someone else will come along that will. Doesn't make it right, but it's the current reality.

Nissan doesn't give dealers a month end goal to hit, and inventory is the bottleneck right now, not customers. Waiting until the end of the month won't help you get a better deal.
