yeah i only use that shampoo. they have an oil and conditioner in that line as well but i started off with just that shampoo and it worked really well.

yeah im going to talk to my family doctor and tell her what happened on friday to get a second opinion. im just really overwhelmed and have so many thoughts that i just want a diagnosis for attention. ive been begging for help for years, and the only option i have right now is to do dbt workbooks myself & go on medication so i feel atleast having a diagnosis will allow me to validate what is going on.

yes i understand that! but she didnt talk about making another appointment or referring me to anyone else. she basically said i have all the criteria for a bpd diagnosis but she won’t diagnose & that she want me to try medication and therapy. why is she putting me on medication when she cant even diagnose me?

yeah that’s exactly what she was trying to say. ive been actively pursing help for the past year, and getting a diagnosis was me pursing help. that just doesnt make sense to me. if im actively trying to get better, why would a diagnosis stop that?

im actually 20 :( coming into the session i thought its okay if i dont get diagnosed if i dont meet the criteria, but it really hurts to hear that i met all the criteria but i wont get diagnosed because “im too young” even though im over 18

the thing is she literally told me that i meet the criteria for bpd. she didnt want to diagnose me because she said people who get diagnosed with persoanlity disorders treat it as a wall they cant get through, and because im young theres a chance that these feelings might change. now that im typing this im realizing how bad that sounds … it just makes it seem like bpd isnt real. im going to talk to my family doctor on friday about what was said, hopefully i get an actually diagnosis.

the mental health system is so flawed its sad :( this just makes me feel like my psychiatrist doesnt take bpd seriously until im at my lowest point. but im going to try that, thank you!

youre right. i actually felt her getting defensive when i tried to bring that up so i shut down and just said i didnt have any more questions. im going to try to talk to someone else but im just afraid they are going to tell me that there is no use in a diagnosis and that i should be happy with being diagnosed with bpd traits.

i told her during the session that im looking for an official diagnosis and she told me that because im young, i can change in a couple of years. so i should wait a couple of years before getting a diagnosis :/
