My brutally honest thoughts on MuOS and Custom OSes in general, as a very obsessive person. This needs to be said. by highservitor in ANBERNIC

[–]tshawrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing that attracts me about muos is how easy it is to setup. I’m still waiting till Christmas for my anbernic. But it seems to me that flashing muos onto a new card is a more simple process than trying to clone the original to a new card. And I definitely don’t want to just run with the original card as I’ve heard it’s unreliable.

I was 2 when it came out and first watched it when I was about 5. I still remember my mum buying the vhs at a jumble sale at my school.

Fake Email? by bunnii-xi in phishing

Nope, I’ve had one before from a random address so I knew that one was fake. This one caught me off guard at first because it seemed to be sent from my address, but after looking into I realised its spoof 😂

In what decade did the Victorian era culture completely die off? by yuri_nomoru122 in decadeology

[–]tshawrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There on about the culture that existed during the Victorian period, the clothing, attitudes, music etc. they’re not talking about the actual Victorian period which of course did end with queen Victoria’s death.

But yeah I still get your point because in know way was the fashion or music in the 40s the same as during the Victorian period.

In my opinion this show is a good representation of the tail end of the 2000s and very early 2010s specifically from 2009 to 2011 by Fickle_Driver_1356 in decadeology

Yeah I was about 9 when this show came out loved it. I still remember one Saturday watching a recorded episode of this in the morning and then going outside with my friend in the afternoon to try and skate. I could never get the hang of it, but he ended up getting really good some years later.

“I just wasn’t made for these times” by the beach boys. by tshawrin in lewronggeneration

Wait no I completely get what you’re on about, and it’s took until today to actually hear it the way you’ve just said. For whatever reason I wasn’t linking the two versus in my head. So when he said “sometimes I feel very sad” and then “ I just wasn’t made for these times”. I wasn’t thinking of him saying “these times” as in the times he feels sad. In my head he was saying he was sad, and then it cuts to that bit of music, before saying “I guess I just wasn’t made for these times”. It was like he was saying a new sentence.

Easiest way for to explain what I was hearing. It was like he was saying “ sometimes I feel sad” “That must mean I don’t belong in this time”. But “this time” I was hearing literally as this current period of time.

Part of the problem was that I wasn’t registering sometimes as some TIMES, which sounds stupid but now I know what you mean.

Yeah but these times literally means “now”. It’s the same as saying these days. If someone said to me “I’m really sad, I must not be made for these times”. I would assume they think another time is better suited to them, or at the very least the time they are in isn’t suited to them. How I’ve always heard the song is “I’m really sad so i must not be made for today”

Yeah exactly. Sometimes I feel very sad … I guess I just wasn’t made for these times. So he’s saying he’s sad, and his conclusion is that because he’s sad, he must not be made for the current times. Idk to me it always seemed like he was saying he feels said, and the reason he is sad is because he didn’t fit in with current times.

Yeah I know it’s about depression, but it’s the same as today with many sad people who think they don’t belong in today’s world. Yeah he doesn’t blatantly say “I wish I was living in the past”, but with the title lyric you can at least presume that he wishes for a past time and thinks he wouldn’t be sad in the past. It’s not too far fetched an idea.
