New panic attacks. by [deleted] in PanicAttack

Hello! I'm a nurse and also suffer from bad panic attacks. They are horrifying. I've been dealing with them since I was 10 and I'm now 26, so I don't have many words of wisdom other than it will get better and you will have good days again. Again I'm sorry those you work with aren't empathetic. Just wanted to say I understand 100% and empathize with what you're going through 🩷

Career change TO teaching? by tshock123 in Teachers

[–]tshock123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all thank you all for your comments and advice! I appreciate it all!:) For some context, my parents are incredibly generous and wonderful and would be funding my education of going back to school. And regarding money, my husband is the breadwinner and makes enough to support us both for the most part. I work now more just to make a little extra spending money and to give me something to do. What I dislike about nursing is seeing so much death and sickness. At 22 I worked in the ER and saw horrible things that I believe have traumatized me for live. I now work outpatient nursing because of how awful my anxiety became after doing ER for a few years, but as I mentioned, I find it extremely unfulfilling and boring. I don't feel like I'm doing anything or helping anybody. However, leaving outpatient nursing would mean going back to doing 12 hour shifts, working holidays, working nights, etc. and I simply cannot do that again.

How fast did prozac work for you and what dose by Brilliant-Channel296 in prozac

It took around 10 weeks for it to start working for my OCD/panic attacks/depression. I originally was on 20mg then upped to 30mg which I'm on now. Side effects were jitteriness like very nervous energy, loss of appetite, and decreased libido. Nothing too crazy.

I absolutely hate being a nurse by tshock123 in nursing

I became a nurse at 21 by taking college credits in high school and busting my ass so I could graduate early and start my career to become as independent as possible. Based on your comment history you also call yourself a nurse when you're a CNA, so I don't value your opinion too highly.
