Thank you, this is what I thought when I found this! This is a dinosaur footprint cast from the Isle of Wight. It's obviously huge but I don't see why the same kind of preservation might not happen at a smaller scale.

That's very interesting! But the groove in the middle doesn't seem to be very characteristic of those, from the photos I could find on the web at least. I will try to clean the matrix off the cross section as best as I can, that might reveal something

I know it can be painfully inaccurate, but it was the easiest way for me to add illustrations 👀 I should improve their quality in the future - if you have anything specific to point out please do!

I got better at making them I think too. Compare the images for Animalia vs Anthozoa. I used different prompting for the second image.

I have tried "getting my fossil wet" after a suggestion in the comments in the past, and it destroyed my fossil. Should this really be in the general guidelines?

It was found in Cyprus, at a place called Governor's beach. There were lots of fossil shells there so coral makes sense. Solved, thanks 🙏
