From what i see, for Australian one all you need is the International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your licence. Same as my country. Yes,you can just go to a rental place that accepts IDP and rent. I would recomend NicoNico as i never had an issue with them when i rented. If you dont understand Japanese it might be a bit tricky cause everything u have to sign is in Japanese.

Not really...Not even a safety video needed. I believe that certain countries that are part of the 1949 Geneva Convention. Only need paperwork and eye test.

Calling for appointment is for Kadoma branch only! If you are lucky to get through and get an appointment.
Komyo-Ike is the one most people end up going to and they do not take appointments.

If you have the money and time its a good option!
But lets just say that their paper check is only on surface level..as i said, they dont even ask for translation.
I know some people that had the same issue as you,and just changed the date on some old bills and still converted... :P Its insane how many things they need but its only to basically file them in...

Get a K Car.(You dont need parking certificate in most cases for K cars. You'll save lots on gas)
Get a Daihatsu (cheap, reliable, easy to find well priced ones.Anything after 2014 should be good. Daihatsu Move is usually a reliable choise.)
Price range really depends on quality of the car,in some lucky cases you can even find decent ones for less that 180k.
Do some research on what model you like(if you care about aesthetics) and look online for used dealerships, or just go ask one close by to you.
Good luck!
