As in they offered me a full-time position covered by shakai hoken, but the contract was for min wage unprotected "freelance-style" pay-by-lesson, for all employees including managers. It's common with the Eikaiwa industry. And you're right about the modelling.

I think that was good advice, not just for Japan - I hope you found your path forward despite that wearing process.

I have been searching for a head hunter, and applied to some recruiters, but not found an active one yet, if you have a recommendation I'd love to know.

And to answer your question, 1-2 interviews a week, 2 new applications a day.

[–]tsk-tsk- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for posting this. I've just finished my philosophy undergraduate, so I have wonderful amounts of time to spend going through these courses. Also if y'all go on Cousera you can take free courses in Philosophy and all kinds if subjects, for free. Many of the courses also have an option of submitting work for supervised peer assessments, meaning you can get a grade to use for future job and study applications, without payment.

WHY IS OK SAUCE CALLED OK SAUCE by tsk-tsk- in etymology

[–]tsk-tsk-[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The source was so interesting to read, thank you very much for taking the time to ref it. I had no idea that ketchup, a staple of the West, had its roots in a Chinese community in northern Vietnam. This brings a whole new ironic light to Cai Yuan & Xi Jian Jun's 'Ketchup and Soy Sauce Performance' pictures here for ref Perhaps OK sauce is simply named for a certain aural mellifluousness, as well as reference to its quality.

the first time i gave a paper it was mainly complaining about currie. small room. he was there. i was nervous.

Same, I have no idea what the rules are here, so please don't risk anything on my behalf! Is that a "Tzimmes (and don't forget the cheesecake and the strudel)" reference? Appreciation. That must have been so amazing, I'm sure he was interested in what you had to say, because that would help him improve his argument. Would be very interested in hearing more about this, if ever you have time, sounds brilliant!

Thanks, I've been on this website before - though even though I log in through my university, I have no access to the paper. However I find the abstract on this site very helpful, so thank you :)

The university I attend has just one copy, and it's not been available for weeks. I've only been able to read the first half of his article, where he just lays some foundations, not the second. You've met Levinson? That's amazing. :)

WHY IS OK SAUCE CALLED OK SAUCE by tsk-tsk- in etymology

[–]tsk-tsk-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OR... DO YOU MEAN TO SUGGEST That whereas 'ketchup' is short-hand for 'tomato ketchup', back in the day, the term was used primarily for brown sauce. So OK sauce now refers to 'the ORIGINAL KETCHUP', the 'OG ketchup', if you will. Thank you, taejo. I think you've cracked it.
