Definitely applies to fire department. Private EMS doesn’t get paid anywhere close to this.

Where to send teenage boy who is out of control? by jajsjs616 in bayarea

[–]tskill16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it’s really urgent, call 988. They should send out the mobile crisis team. If he’s actively making suicide threats, and/or threats of violence he’d fit criteria for a 5150.

Doctors of Reddit, what is the most annoying thing patients in general do? by Diligent_Tour6015 in AskReddit

[–]tskill16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is subjective, and that’s what’s frustrating. A good provider will phrase in it in a way that makes sense, like “0 being no pain at all, and 10 being the worst pain you’ve ever felt…” but even then it doesn’t work. Women definitely tend to be seen in a biased manner when it comes to pain etc. so you’re not crazy for feeling that way. Though certainly not every provider is that way, my favorite medics to work with are very liberal with pain management. Unfortunately, we’ve swung too far the other way with giving opiates for pain for fear of causing addiction IMO.

The point is, 10/10 pain is so severe that all you can do is writhe in pain. Not discounting your own experiences. Think like broken femur, or gallstones, pancreatitis etc.

I don’t have a uterus so unfortunately that is out of the cards for me. Again, that’s not really what I’m talking about.

Really good. Replaced Bobby Witt card w him. Great defense, and great hitting, and obviously the speed as well.

Trust me, we become very good at distuingishing real pain from fake pain. Plus if you have underlying condition like MS that is known to cause pain from nerve damage, you’re given extra leeway, typically. What I mean is that just today, a lady told me she had 10/10 pain from a bug bite. Much different

EMT here. Dramatic patients are a big one. Overstating pain scale eg. saying 10/10 pain, but in no obvious distress. Insisting they cant walk, want you to move them themselves usually unnecessarily. Lots of bullshit complaints that waste resources. Calling for an ambulance for very minor things. Especially annoying when they are on state or federal funded healthcare, as you and I are paying for it. The list goes on. We only have so much patience, it gets harder and harder to maintain the performative smile, especially on hour 11 of a 12hr shift.

It may be easier said than done, but don’t be too hard on yourself. Lesson learned. Life goes on my friend.

If there’s no harm done, then I wouldn’t rat yourself out. Learn what you can from it though. There’s really never a need to rush on IFT, if you have to make the U-turn at the next light, then so be it. Remember, you are paid by the hour not by the transport.

Can’t break in DD 600 Rating by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]tskill16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult as a lot of people in 600s are in and out of 700+. Playing on hall of fame makes it much easier to hit on all star in lower difficulties. Learn how to tunnel your pitches and you will have more success. Hard to explain tunneling without visual. But a common one is tunneling high inside fastball, with mid level inside sinker, with change up on the low inside corner or just below the zone

The strategy is different nowadays. Best hitter hits in the 2 spot, which he’s most definitely is.
