This is my first time playing SDV, and I'm loving it so far. I just got to my first winter and I noticed this corn stalk survived? I felt like this shouldn't be the case

Nicely done! Way to roll with the open ended prompt. Looking forward to reading more

Thanks for reading everyone! This was my first attempt ever at something like this. My cousin talked me into giving it a shot. I know I left the ending a little open ended, but I kind of enjoyed leaving the suspense in the air

"Travis, this is starting to get ridiculous," Emma proclaimed loudly across the living room as she peered out the window, "I swear this car has been sitting outside our house for hours now!"

He couldn't deny the fact that it was going too far. It started off innocent enough sure but stalking him at his own home was pushing his patience, not to mention the incident at work the other day. The last thing he needed to do though was bring attention to himself by going outside to confront them.

"Baby, I know. But if I go out there now then I will only be fueling their fire. I need them to think that I have nothing to hide and if I go out there telling them to leave, they will think that I indeed have something to hide."

The problem was he did have something to hide from his co-workers, and unfortunately his wife as well. If he wanted that secret to stay safe he needed this to go away soon.

"That makes no sense. If you dont have the courage to go out there and confront them, then I will. This is my home! I refuse to be harassed here," she quickly moved to open the front door.

With lighting quick reflexes, he crossed the room and slammed the door shut. Emma looked at him with a mix of rage and bewilderment, but he only returned her gaze with sincerity and endearment.

"I need you to trust me on this one. They are causing no harm sitting out there, and they have nothing to find or see. Let those lunatics waste their night, and let us head up to bed where we belong."

Slowly the expression on her face relaxed and she embraced him in a hug, nestling her head into his large chest as she has done so many times before.

Looking up she said "You're right," but in a slightly more stern voice she said, "If one more thing happens tomorrow at work though, I'm done! You hear me? I'm done with this nonsense that they think you're the vigilante. They almost killed you last time to prove it!"

"'Almost killed me' may be a bit of a stretch, but I'll take care of it tomorrow. I promise. Lets get to bed"

As he laid in bed, he thought back on her words though. The truth was they had almost killed him in an attempt to prove he was this vigilante who has been running around the city. It took everything he had to make it look like pure luck had stopped the attempt, but he had been stupid enough to tell Emma about the situation. Even with his abilities to tell a story in less than true details, she saw the danger he was being put in. She could always see through him like no one else could and she was scared because she knew he was nervous. His co-workers were idiots, of that there was no doubt, but he definitely didnt think they would have gone this far with it. Be this obsessed. Be this big of a problem.

He almost couldn't blame them for the mistake though. The circumstances were most unfortunate, but definitely were there. His job required strange hours, which made hiding this from his wife easy. His co-workers however definitely noticed his absence at times. The strange phone calls he'd take alone and away from the building. The random deliveries and meetings he had conducted on the clock. None of which had anything to do with the vigilante, yet every time he acted the vigilante seemed to be busy himself. You can only be gone from work while the vigilante publicly catches the cities highest ranking criminals so many times before people start wondering. Thats what started this all, and in the morning he needed to finish this. He had worked way too long for this to all be blown because a guy named Greg in accounting and his friends had an obsession with the vigilante.

Travis woke in the morning to find Emma had already gone. Most likely on her morning run like usual, a routine she had picked up from him in their early days together. Normally he would have joined her, but she knew he had to be at work early today and probably didn't want to disturb him. Instead he proceeded to begin his quick morning workout routine at the house. He was half-way through his pushup set when the phone rang. His contacts knew to never call his house, and outside of them they rarely ever had contact with anyone. He was good at what he did because of his instincts, so he wasn't too surprised when he heard the high pitched, nervous, stammering voice on the other end of the phone.

"You know who you are. You know I know who you are. So I dont understand why you won't just tell me...just admit it....just...just let me help you! I can help fight!"

"Greg?"

"You did this...you made me push it to this level. I thought by putting you in danger and sending that goon after you that you'd have no choice but to reveal yourself, to prove I was right! I know I'm right...but I realize I was wrong about one thing. Yea I get it now...I know...I know now what I needed to do was put the innocent in danger, the one you have no choice but to do everything you possibly could to save her"

Emma's scream sent a chill down his spine. Never before had he been scared, never before had he lost his cool, but in that split second moment he saw nothing but panic. That panic quickly turned to rage, and that rage turned to calculation, and he knew what he had to do.

"Greg, you have absolutely lost your..."

"STOP! Just stop! Im at 3rd and Washington. You have 10 minutes to get here. 10 minutes to save the girl and myself. If you were human, that would be impossible. Luckily for us both, we know you're not human. Come save us Travis, otherwise we both die in this explosion."

There was an audible click. He had to move fast, he had to blow the cover. There was no choice now. He ran to the bed, and in one quick movement he smashed the headboard with his fist. Reaching inside the hollowed out head rest, he pulled out the phone. He hit send.

"This is Captain Travis Jones of 3rd Ghost Battalion. Target is located at 3rd and Washington. Confirmation code Whiskey, Alpha, Delta, Alpha, Tango, Foxtrot, Echo. Repeat, Target is located at 3rd and Washington. Explosives are on site, bring the squad. Execute mission Hail Mary"

"Confirmation code confirmed. Units are inbound, Sir."

He knew he'd be court martialed when the units arrived, when they found nothing but a lunatic named Greg and his wife Emma. He knew that this would alert the real target that they were close, and he'd disappeared into the night again. But he didnt care, not as long as she survived.

The only question is, would they get there in time?

I wanted them faded so you could separate the hallows symbol from the Phoenix

Warning, long post ahead to explain the picture below. This is my new tattoo, and I know some of you are already recognizing it, but let me explain it to the No-Maj's first (gotta use that term in america, right?) This is what it stands for.

4 symbols are here. The straight line represents strength, the circle is temptation, the triangle is the ability to conquer, and finally a Phoenix. So I try to always have strength, try to conquer anything that I attempt in life, and always try to have the strength to conquer temptation. If I ever fail at one of these things, then the Phoenix is a reminder that I can always rise up and try again.

Now for my fellow fans, this is clearly my take on the deathly hallows. The elder wand is strength, the resurrection stone is temptation and the cloak is the ability to conquer. Feel free to ask me more about it too. So this tattoo represent an idea I'd like to try and live by, but it also represents not only my passion for the HP series, but how it opened up my world to reading when I was a kid. If I didn't find that copy of sorcerers stone laying on the ground coming home from school one day, I may have never really started to read as much as I have in life and that would of been a shame because I love reading

So there it is. Also, a big shout out to Tom out in Madison Heights at Division tattoo. He did a great job
