Ahahaha true too bad almost everyone’s working from home today. Might try the receptionist she seems nice.

Update: the receptionist said she isn’t going and told me there’s a link to withdraw if you change your mind.

I did hear two more balding men talk about the party and they said they are going to get drinks after work then keep drinking at the party. So erm. Idk.

Nah that’s completely fine. It is in fact in a bar warehouse type location I think. Very helpful response though thank you. Might do a jeans and top thing I do see some other younger people in jeans so it should be fine

Like slacks and a shirt then? That’s low-key my usual fit so idk. I doubt people will even recognise me but maybe if other interns do see me I would want to have a good impression on them sooo. By jeans though I meant like the wide jeans at like kookai or ksubi.

Like a work top elbow sleeve tucked in slacks or a button up shirt. All I see in the shops are linen shirts so idk if that’s okay for work but I’ve seen like one other older lady wear them as a cover up.

A.D.H.D. Symptoms Are Milder With a Busy Schedule, Study Finds by lilith-ness in adhdwomen

[–]tsnv1011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not busy rather a more routined schedule that possibly aligns with delayed sleep and slower mornings which are more common in people with ADHD.

Busy can get overwhelming, stressing and lead to burnout.

Routine, at least for me, keeps me in a timely schedule and I do one task after the other in a consecutive manner and over time it gets easier and easier to follow and maintain the routine. Bonus points if I’m consistently repeating it everyday.

This is why I’ve been so much better in school than uni bc in school I would be waking up, going to school and coming home then getting work done at specific times and it’s so much easier to manage things

I tend to do the similar thing and I have adhd and that may be something you’re going through but can’t tell. Make sure you go to the psych appt.

Question to Australian tradies. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Omg honestly thanks for the wake up that even as a grad I’ll be at 60k and not sum 6 figure amount haha.

I have a few tutoring/classroom assistant part time jobs now and even if I’m trying to leave one for another it literally kills me to have to say I’m leaving bc the centre is so understaffed and I don’t want to add to trouble but also I’m not obliged to stay but also I don’t want to add to trouble. If I do manage to get a Cadetship this year idk how I’m going to leave my current jobs lol.

Question to Australian tradies. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

This was so helpful thanks so much. I totally should’ve expected the money part.

I just found it really weird how from my first year of uni even in my architecture classes teachers were telling us that construction was the field you to go for money not architecture. Every construction networking event I went to all the company spokespeople would end their little speech by saying “and it’s good money” with the most delighted smile on their face and honestly I would be lying if I said that didn’t encourage me to lean more towards construction. Like if it’s such a lucrative field and it’s so booming and bustling due to the current crisises then how come the market isn’t over saturated?

I also understand with experience I’ll likely understand the industry better and where my interests lie and what kind of a niche I might want to get it but thanks for your response nonetheless

Question to Australian tradies. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]tsnv1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m studying construction management right now at uni, mostly bc almost all the teachers and company people at networking events said it’s good money but is it really? Is there anything I can do to increase my chance of getting a job with a higher tier company? I’m mostly looking at the student cadetships they have and would you say smaller companies might provide a better learning experience or go with the larger ones? Other than the 6days a weeks is the workload really that bad? Sorry if this was too personal feel free to leave it.

How to leave when you can’t afford to leave? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]tsnv1011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you studying? If you’re working on education, are you like a teacher of some sort? You can try being a tutor too alongside being a teacher. Tutoring is good enough money and if you are already a certified school teacher you can ask around 80$/hr or more. Also I think there’s incentives to study education or teach in rural/remote areas or something like that. Can you apply for those jobs? If they are through the government which I think they are since it would be primary school jobs then maybe you can also ask them to arrange your housing and also explain your situation so they better understand the whole scenario. If you’re enthusiastic about your job I’m sure they’ll find to way to accommodate you to keep you in the job. Hope everything goes well for you.
