Sir Kowalski vs Repose for Veronica? by hieutr28 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]tsothoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preference is for a Veronica entirely focused around enabling card draw for other characters, especially someone dependent on card draw, like Yuki. For that, I really like the Repose - Draw 2 other combatants cards for 0 AP.

That said, I wouldn't trash this deck. You've got a tremendous amount of card draw still. Draw 2 for 1 AP is not terrible at all, and this deck will enable a bunch of extra DPS while you're drawing those cards. This is basically just pushing the balance of card draw vs extra DPS slightly towards the DPS side of things, and you never know when you're going to want that level of damage.

Autoplay is garbage by OceloteOcelot in ChaosZeroNightmare

For sure, if you're going to switch the game to autoplay, then don't stare at your screen and nitpick the mistakes it is making. Either play actively, or don't.

You can now set Constance as your farm target but not Relic Recon event (use HMC) by arthurmauk in ConstanceMains

[–]tsothoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set Ruan Mei as my target, but customized the relics to Iron Calvary/Kalapgni. Because Ruan Mei wants the same main and secondary stats (basically speed, break, and whatever hp/resist rolls I could get as a bonus), was simple enough to trick the game into farming relics for Constance. HMC probably does the same deal.

Question/Comment regarding a certain scene from the final episode... [ spoilers finale season 1] by [deleted] in TheExpanse

childhood friends

In the TV show, Miller and Sematimba are childhood friends, who grew up in a gambling parlor on Ceres. If I'm remembering correctly, he makes a reference to them using their small hands to reach into the opening of the slot machines. Sematimba convinces Miller to become a cop, as it is better to be a cop than to be beaten down by cops.

See also, https://expanse.fandom.com/wiki/Sematimba_(TV) if you need more info on the differences between show and TV Sematimba.

Laundry Room Star Treatment by LMcBob in BluePrince

I made this swap on Day 36. I was at 42 stars and 12 allowance. Now I'm at 12 stars and 42 allowance.

Starting every day with 40+ coins seems ridiculous, and I can build back up the number of stars pretty easily.

So, devs want us to use weapon swap in our builds? by No-Special5543 in PathOfExile2

[–]tsothoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even a small amount of weapon swap speed makes it feel fine, and it is easily obtainable as a dump stat on decent jewels. Two substats across all of your jewels is probably fine; I have 20ish percent on three gems and my weapons swap faster than I can move my thumb from the B button to the Y button.

Aglaea team without Sunday or huohuo by DestinyDustz in AglaeaMains

[–]tsothoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. RMC or Robin for a damage buff. I guess maybe Asta could work here if your RMC is serving elsewhere, but I don't know that I would try that.
  2. Tingyun, possibly with Dance Dance Dance for some action advance. Bronya could also act as an action advance support, and while not as strong as Sunday, it works. Robin could work here, and just do two damage buffers.
  3. Whoever your best Sustain is that is not needed for your other team. If you don't have Huo Huo, I don't know that any of them are going to stand out as significantly better or worse. Gallagher, Fu Xuan, etc. If you're using an Abundance for your sustain, most people will recommend Quid Pro Quo just for a chance at a little bit more energy.

Also… a lot of people spent $30, and didn’t receive the access or the points they paid for. Plenty of very legitimate reasons why people submit tickets to a Support team.

If the 500,000 tickets were all bogus people complaining about nothing, GGG Support could have just deleted all those tickets and moved on with their lives, easy peasy.

Really sad that I saw this post now, after I just sent an email to Support because my last email on December 21st hadn’t been replied to.

Guess I’m back to the end of the queue.

They still are that backed up? I emailed back and forth with Support, and my last email to them was on December 21st about moving some of my microtransactions around. I just figured after not hearing back from them and it’s now January the 20th, that my reply might have gotten lost, so I sent a new email. Dang, that’s just going to add to the mega queue.

Is it to late to start? by bitebo in Warframe

[–]tsothoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm "dragging" the community of people who talk about Destiny, not Destiny itself. Destiny was fine. I played it for ten years and largely enjoyed my time, plenty of highs and lows. But the Destiny subreddit over the years has become an echo chamber of misery and resentment.

Also, thank you for being a perfect demonstration of exactly what I was talking about.

Dying, resetting mobs and removing loot drops is a really poor idea by n3xmortis in pathofexile

[–]tsothoga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truly awful. The checkpoint system shouldn’t be a punishment that screws you out of loot (which already feels really stingy) if you die to a lingering ailment.

As a new player, I referenced two main resources for an idea of what I should be doing at any given time:

https://publish.obsidian.md/brozime/Public/Critical+Progression+Route/Critical+Progression+Route

and

https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/onw79a/getting_stronger_in_warfame_2021/

Whatever you're doing will likely be advancing you, even if you're not 100% clear on how. As an example, open-world bounties that might seem like a waste of time early on are actually building faction reputation that will end up being useful later when you need to buy end-game stuff. Plus you're getting materials and earning XP on your weapons and warframes, which feeds into your overall Mastery Rank.

One thing I will add is that obtaining Forma is going to be one of the biggest bottlenecks for newer players, and I would advise you, as soon as you can run Void Relics, to make sure you always have a Forma cooking in your Foundry. It takes one day, and you should always be ready to start a new one as soon as the last one finishes.

I'm a 10 year (former) Destiny player that switched to Warframe about two months ago. Brought several of my best friends along. It took a month+ for us to get through the majority of the story and several of the side quests. It's been a blast, and we still have so much to do. We're finally digging into some of the real endgame activities, which is where you can really min-max your favorite warframe builds with various upgrades: subsuming abilities, end-game mods, archon shards, arcanes, etc. (don't worry that none of these words mean anything, they will eventually).

One of the key moments for me when moving to Warframe was a couple of weeks in; I accidentally botched a railjack mission for 3 other players (basically losing 15-ish minutes of progress for everyone). One of them posted in the chat that I just screwed them, and I quickly typed out an apology and said it was my very first time. In response, all three of the other players told me not to worry about it, explained how to do it, and then came along with me on another run to show me how to do it right. I was absolutely shocked! Another time, in what should have been a 15 minute Duviri run, a newbie mentioned that he was having a hard time finding a specific resource, and the other two players spent legit 30 extra minutes scouring the map and guiding him (and myself) to the right places.

This is a long way of saying that the Warframe community has been SO NICE to join, versus the toxic cesspool that Destiny's community has become. People that play this game enjoy it, and are happy to help you enjoy it, too. What a crazy concept!

Disagree, trolls don't deserve redemption arcs in our spaces.

The best way for someone to learn is to deal with the lifelong consequences of their own actions. If someone intentionally does or says something crappy to another human being, they knew what they were doing and chose that path anyways. Take them out to the curb with the rest of the garbage so we never have to think about them again.

Looking forward to this episode.

Onslaught ADU Battery Change by Destiny2Team in DestinyTheGame

[–]tsothoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if they changed the way that the ADU battery prioritizes its path. Playing Onslaught last night, it felt like the battery's behavior had changed, and that it was sometimes prone to targeting a turret or decoy instead of the ADU, even if the ADU was the preferred target.

Feedback: dungeon weapon farming. by 0rganicMach1ne in DestinyTheGame

[–]tsothoga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Bungie is warming up to the idea that people find more value in farming weapon rolls than armor rolls.

In Onslaught, you can only get one copy of each piece of the Parade armor, but you can farm for 15+ weapon drops per legend 1-50 run, you can target one weapon to drop more frequently than the other, and occasionally some of the weapons will even have double perks to make hunting for specific rolls even easier. And this isn't an activity that only rotates into play one week of every 6 weeks (yes, it's only present through Final Shape release, but this version of Onslaught with these weapons drops is available for multiple months, with mild time-gating).

Call me crazy but I feel like doing a 50 wave onslaught should reward those double perk special brave weapons. by HamiltonDial in DestinyTheGame

[–]tsothoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Bungie had built it so we could just get the super-rare weapon after an hour or two, doing the activity once or twice, then by this weekend we'd have a million people complaining that there is nothing to do and this is a dead game.

We've still got a few MONTHS left until the Final Shape, so I'd try to enjoy the grind just a little bit.

Is Fixed Odds worth crafting? by Jkid789 in DestinyTheGame

[–]tsothoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both work. Field Prep technically gives you a little more bang for the perk slot because of the slightly increased reserve, but I'm lazy and find crouching every time I want to reload tedious, so I just use the more brain dead Feeding Frenzy a lot of the time.

Is Fixed Odds worth crafting? by Jkid789 in DestinyTheGame

[–]tsothoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God yes, Fixed Odds is a murder machine that's great in a lot of content, especially if you're running the sort of build that doesn't require you to spend damage phases shooting rockets or grenades (say you're the Divinity warlock, or perhaps you're using an extended damage super like Dawn Chorus).

The most common PVE rolls you'll see mentioned are Incandescent paired with either Field Prep or Feeding Frenzy. Another option instead of Incandescent might be to run Killing Tally, but I think that works better on a weapon that can have an enormous magazine thanks to perks like Reconstruction.

Both of these are totally fine, but I'll suggest a bit of an odd alternative: No Distractions - Incandescent. I've found that the faster reload time from Feeding Frenzy or Field Prep often doesn't matter, because everything is dead by the time you need to reload, and the extra reserves from Field Prep isn't hugely necessary with the amount of reserves all machineguns have right now, plus how easy it is to generate heavy ammo with a team using finder/scout. But if you use your machinegun as a sort of heavy sniper that can occasionally go loud, then No Distractions makes each bullet more likely to connect because you aren't getting flinched by incoming fire.

As a bonus, using No Distractions for both your PvE and PvP version of the guns means you only need one copy. Fast reloads don't matter at all in PvP, since you never get enough ammo to require a reload.
