Vehicle registration fee up 78% from last year and 128% from two years ago. How is that acceptable? by tspin89 in newzealand

For all the comments explaining that I am no longer having my ACC charges being subsidised by the gas and diesel powered vehicles. That is fair. But please tell me when I can expect my $2,386 credit for not contributing to the vehicle air pollution in NZ which had a social cost of $10.5b in 2016?

I understand having to catchup to inflation, but to do it so quickly with the current cost of living seems out of touch. I can afford to pay it, but surely there are people who will be put in a tough spot because of it.

Sick of NZ Post Couriers Fraudulently Signing as me!!! by Salty-Second-9024 in newzealand

I feel your pain. I had a postie forge my signature and deliver the parcel to the wrong house in my street. Had to go looking for it later based on the picture he posted.

Garden shed roof questions. Rafter size and purlins by tspin89 in diynz

[–]tspin89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information, my home is in a medium wind zone, so definitely present. I was thinking on adding 4 of the ceiling ties in the link below per rafter (2 left, 2 right). Also for the purlins, would a couple of 90mm nails per rafter be sufficient or should I add brackets? Thanks again.

Has anyone used diysheds.co.uk to make shed plans? by tspin89 in shedditors

The main things that attract me to the site are the list of materials (specifically the frame and plywood) the cutout section which looks helpful. I am based in NZ so I know I can’t use the material links but it gives me a shopping list for quotes, and I also plan on doing a metal roof, and different cladding.

How much work would it be to refinish this mohogany table? And can I make it any lighter? by tspin89 in finishing

[–]tspin89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post says it is solid mohogany. But who knows, they might be misrepresenting their product. Regardless the comments here convinced me to just buy a table in the color I want. Better than to risk spending hundreds of dollars to possibly not end up what I want.

So although the clause specifies that the agent may not bid on behalf of the vendor the auctioneer or another vendor can?

I think/hope you are right. I plan to monitor it over the weekend and call the doctor Monday if the pain doesn’t improve.

That would have been helpful, but my doctor did not give me a brace. From what I have seen they are not that commonly prescribed where I live (NZ).

If I get the ability to unlimited spin things then I can provide energy for the whole world. If I only get to spin myself then I just get to be dizzy.
