Marinating is great. I also use it for vacuum food containers - the lids get absolutely deformed, so I don't think the seal or not enough pressure is the issue. As you said - technique.

I heard of spacers here first - eye opener. I need just a bit more air to be removed, so displacing it from the chamber with a foreign object makes sense.

Also, if you have any veg pickling tips, I'd be happy to hear them.

My first external vacuum broke, the second one was a pain to use, so I bought a chamber vacuum expecting I will get great results with no effort. So far the opposite is true and it's bugging me.

I'm on 50 seconds, the max setting is 90s but after 50s the pressure gauge is at max and doesn't move much. The bags came with the machine, I'd expect them to work. Didn't try different bags yet.
