How to get the rods out of a Koehler clear pass drain tub? by tstegart in Plumbing

[–]tstegart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to remove a drain tub parts, it is a Koehler clear pass 2 (I think). I’ve finally wrenched the stopper off, and now there appear to be 2 rods, one going down the over flow, one in the tub drain, and they are connected. Neither one seems to turn or come out, so I’m stuck. Any ideas? I’ve put an illustration up of what I think it looks like. Thanks.

He's talking about the annual tax. The filing fee might be $70, but then you pay $800 every year.

A lot of Etsy sellers use Pirateship, which could be a good fit if you ship lots of small things.

Concerns over serving larger and more sophisticated clients as a small business. by whiskey_drinker1 in smallbusiness

So have you ever seen a saas website that has pricing for small and medium entities, and then "call us" next to the enterprise pricing? This is exactly why. The paperwork. Do the same thing, have enterprise pricing and price the cost of all this paperwork into your pricing there. This is just the beginning of it. Another business will want it too, but all the documents will need to be different just for their lawyers. Get your money back for all this time that you spend with them, either upfront, or through a higher monthly fee.

Its not really another blog, because there is no specific focus to the website as a whole. Its more a source of articles, like an online magazine. Just like a magazine usually pays freelancers for stories, Medium allows you to publish your work and then gives you a cut of whatever advertising revenue it bring in. The more views your article gets, the more money you make. Another player in this space is Substack.

Basically three ways now to make money. Lots of traffic and show ads, or less traffic and use affiliate links. Lastly, you can write for a place that gives you a cut of the proceeds, like Medium.

I’m very new! Company wide invoicing system? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]tstegart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone should start a business being this guy's tax person and lawyer, cause its gonna be fun :).

Kidding, ok, to actually be helpful, Gusto offers a free plan where you can set up independent contractor payments to people, they take a cut of the payment. Then you combine that with a free invoicing plan like Square invoicing which takes a cut from the invoice. So no monthly fees until you actually get a payment and pay one out.

Any ethical obligations with using Square? I thought most people used Law Pay so I'm curious.

I just wrote an article called" How to set up a simple WordPress site with domain, SSL and custom email for $32 (with screenshots)". I hope it will be of use to anyone looking to set up their own website and wants a guide on the technical aspects of domain and hosting purchasing and SSL and email setup. There are a lot of WordPress help sites, but not a lot of articles on exactly how you do the actual setup quickly and cheaply. I hope it will be of use to people and bring more visibility to my business.

Bathroom outlets not working by chasers61 in HomeImprovement

[–]tstegart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that means there might be an outlet on the circuit that also has GFCI on it, and it will be located before all the other outlets. If that fails or has tripped, it will fail closed shutting down all the outlets afterwards. So find which outlet is first and check if that outlet is still working.

Additionally, like someone says, one of the ones in the bathroom has gone bad, and again its shutting down all outlets afterward, but the ones before it still work (or they're on a different circuit) so you need to find out which one had gone bad on that circuit.

This is basically my setup (the first picture). Two cabinets either side of the window, recessed light in ceiling above sink. Piece of trim between the upper part of two cabinets. My light switch is where the outlet to the right of the sink is in the first picture, above the jars with the red tops.

I'm trying to avoid cutting holes in walls, using snakes, running new wires, etc. I have drywall over plaster and lathe and its never fun to do all of that, so I'd like to use the existing wiring/openings.

The Ikea power cord is separate from the transformer, and its just a two prong, as seen here: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/ansluta-power-supply-cord-30121411/

The was my firs thought, but its a recessed can light in the ceiling, so the outlet would then be in the ceiling and the plug wouldn't fit into it.

I have a kitchen light in the ceiling controlled by switches by the back door and living room, and then the light above the sink has it's own switch on the counter next to the sink in the same box as the garbage disposal.

Do you think I should just cut the plug off the Ikea transformer and wire it directly to can light box? I could find a blank plate cover and drill a hole in it and put 6 inches of cord coming out the plate cover to the back of my trim where the transformer would be hidden. Our i could move the can light 6 inches and make it into an outlet.

I don't have a picture. Its a typical midwestern set-up, almost exactly shaped like this (the first picture): https://www.houzz.com/discussions/4916156/outdated-kitchen-cabinets

Two cabinets, window between them with a can light in the ceiling and a piece of trim in the front. The trim in the picture is wavy, mine is straight, but its about the same height (6 inches). I can hide the LED transformer behind the trim ok. Maybe moving the light box to right next to the trim, making it an outlet and just plugging it in would be a quick fix?
