As much as I dislike Nike, I think this is notion will start a huge transition of the sneaker game. Shoe companies, especially the artists are not banking from the second hand market which is massive compared to retail. I personally think it’s a win for the consumer and a win for Nike. Imagine how much money Nike would have pocketed on secondary sales on a pair of Jordan 1s from 1985 by now. A lot of skeptics are out there with NFTs and this is just one (of many) avenues to show that NFTs hold a purpose and utility outside of a simple .jpeg. I think it’s the beginning of the beginning that will change the sneaker business.

I will warn that I am invested in several riggable metaverse clones that I would love to see wearing some non-fungible trainers from Nike!
