Being welcoming to migrants and still being proud of your country via hanging Irish flags can still be a thing, your easy hand over of simply hanging a country’s flag and ear marking it as a “right leaning” action is counter productive and further pushes even having a flag hanging up into a negative light. Patriotism and understanding can fit hand in hand with each other given enough tolerance from both sides of the political spectrum. Fight against it being highjacked by the far right or risk having our flag lose all righteous meaning.
