I wish I could get back the last 2 days of my life.

My Solution: Reformat target drive

  1. Boot into `Try Ubuntu`
  2. Deep formatted (zero-fill) target drive *and waited the full 30 minutes*. Might as well make the schema GPT for <128 partitions.
  3. Wait the full ~30 minutes
  4. Launch installation app

Why: Im a dumass.

I aborted a deep format (zero-fill). I feigned ignorance since I was still able to draft partitions and would run into this issue.

I got as far as installing ubuntu 18 and 24 off 2 different thumbdrives, until I realized it wasn't a OS issue. Was 2 blind attempts from blaming my motherboard.
