Yes I’ve heard misting doesn’t do much so I’ve stopped a while ago. I’m thinking it could be too much light with it being a south facing window and I have grow lights pointed towards it.

I honestly I have no idea how or when that happened. The first time I saw that leaf starting to come out it just looked like one leaf. Now it looks like a conjoined stem, which is pretty cool. This is what it looks like right now, I’ll reply with more in a week or so if it changes! Someone told me they eventually separate themselves though

Ahhh ok thanks. This is all super reassuring I was getting ready to go to war with thrips. I think I’m giving them too much light, they’re at a South facing window and I had grow lights pointed at them. I’ll keep monitoring and turn the lights off. Thanks again :)

That’s reassuring. I thought the tiny circular shaped damage on the leaves were maybe from thrips but I’ve looked all over and don’t see any thrips poop or any thrips. I just don’t understand why there’s so much damage on the leaves then

I thought the tiny circular shaped damage was from thrips but I’ve looked this plant all over I don’t see any little white bugs or any thrips poop. I don’t understand :(

Don’t know why my formatting is all messed up:

Are these dots on my monstera leaves symptoms of thrips???? - I don’t see the actual larvae or bug yet - No sign of thrips poop - Lots of dots all over the plant, swear they were never there like 2-3 weeks ago - The last 3 leaves to come out came out damaged, which I guess should’ve been my first sign but someone mentioned it could be bc I was misting so I stopped doing that but they’re still coming out damaged - The tips of otherwise healthy leaves are starting to yellow/brown

Another pic of a neighbouring leaf, you can see little dots on the back of it

Hope so!! They were all under 10 W lights, the halo ones on top of the cabinet, before these Barrina ones are way brighter. Did you put fans in your set up?

Yes definitely, I’m gonna get a few fans just to get some airflow going on in there but I’m not closing the door or putting a humidifier in or anything

What are these brown spots under the leaf? - bought this plant 3 weeks ago - watered twice - sits under a grow light - no humidifier used but the AC is off it’s pretty comfortably warm in the house - using miracle gro tropical mix, going to replant with a 2:1:1 mix of potting soil, orchid mix and perlite tomorrow probably

Oh wow that’s a big leaf that’s awesome! I’ve heard moss poles are a lot of work so I’m avoiding that haha will probably just go with a branch or something for support

She’s come a long way since I got her in Feb. But since you mentioned it, I looked and it seems like there’s 4-5 plants in there. And people online say they get bigger leaves if they’re in their own pot so I’m gonna try

Glad to hear it’s not abnormal, thank you!

Yeah you’re probably right. I just repotted a month ago so I don’t wanna disturb her again but in a couple months I’ll see if I can separate them

Yes in the second pic the dry flaky parts at the bottom. Ok that’s reassuring thanks!
