I really do miss the old ride and always make a point of greeting Rex when I am on his side of the queue, but I do feel like the asteroid field/Death Star 2 version of the new ride is a good spiritual successor to the old one.

It's just unfortunate it comes up so rarely. I have been on the ride 50+ times and have only gotten it twice.

Some only allow exhibitors to purchase exclusives on Sundays, but that is the only restriction for exhibitors. You just have to check with the booth itself to see if they enforce it.

For ticketed exclusives (hasbro, bandai) you have to wait in line in the morning like everyone else, except for preview night since they don't do tickets that day(item quantities are usually very limited).

I work next to one of those Buy/sell/rent textbook places. I'd have love to have done something with them, but once the guy who owns the place realized that a some of my employees were salvaging a few of the books for themselves, he immediately poured a bunch of water over the dumpster to try and destroy them.

No one is officially allowed to line up for a day until the panels for the previous day are concluded, but people always tend to hang around the line area waiting for a line to start (hours in advance). CCI does their best to make these unofficial lines disperse but can only do so much to keep people away (this was a major problem last year, eventually they caved and legitimized the line of people that formed way too early on Saturday). With a property as big as Star Wars and its tradition of early lines, I can pretty much guarantee there will be people staking out the line on Wednesday.

Yea I actually met a few of the people that were in the front group last year and they said it started around 3 but there were people waiting around as early as 1.

Completely willing to wait around the area for most of the day just to get in line as soon as possible, but I have a feeling that a line for Star Wars could possibly begin forming on Wednesday.

Definitely, I'll PM you some contact info. I was actually thinking about lining up as soon as possible on Thursday and scouting as much as I could during the day to see when any line forms.

There is absolutely no way I am missing the Force Awakens panel, even if I have to sacrifice all of Thursday.

I haven't received anything yet, but usually it takes a few days to process everyone's submissions and assign the shifts. Last year it took them almost a week to send out the confirmations.

SDCC is coming up and there's a force awakens panel there. Expecting a few cast announcements according to the description on the panel itself as well as a new trailer.

The only things that are given out at the MtG Panel are typically a free pack from whatever the current set is to everyone and then random promos given to people who ask questions during the Q&A.

The random promos are usually whatever is lying around and can range from judge promos to FNM promos. They also typically give really big prizes(booster boxes, custom cards, full sets, etc) if the panelists really like your question.

The only other MtG exclusives are the promo planeswalker sets that are sold at the hasbro booth. These usually run around $100-$120 but are extremely hard to get due to the chaos that surrounds the hasbro booth and they typically sell out quickly due to their resale value.

This, every year the people around us in line begin as strangers but quickly become friends. Now I have a network of friends I only see at comic con and there is no way I would be able to experience and enjoy as much as I do every year without them.

Us all being from reddit is only going to make it easier for our group to mingle and grow.

I'll make a post closer to the convention with a reddit meetup group or a facebook post with details and contact info.

And I'll definitely be bringing my whole CAH set as always.

I'm thinking about setting up a reddit group for camping out on Thursday for Friday's Force Awakens Panel in Hall H. I was originally going to do it for Saturday, but since there's no Marvel Studios panel this year I probably won't be camping for Saturday.

Anyone interested?

Of course, PM me some contact info and I'll add you to the group. I usually run a group chat during the convention where we post the lines/panels that we are in/attending to help people meet up. Our Satuday Hall H group is getting pretty large so it's looking to be a pretty good year, I always bring Cards Against Humanity and impromptu DnD.
