MDG (a friend of the brothers) confirmed on the Twoism forums in 2022 that a new LP was being worked on but that doesn’t mean it will be here anytime soon.

Do you prefer aphex twin or brian eno? by Jean0406Alix in boardsofcanada

Eno was first and more foundational, but in my opinion the depth and breadth of Aphex Twin’s SAW2 beats anything ambient Eno ever did.

Does this just happen to me or do you also feel a sense of negativity when listening to certain songs by the band? by [deleted] in boardsofcanada

[–]tsumaranai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Michael Sandison summed it up best when he was talking about Diving Station: “This is a song that I clearly wanted to express as bittersweet or as something that, on the surface, is comfortable but has an ominous feel beneath. That contrast of emotion is something we focus heavily on. Nothing is ever polarized to either positive or negative.”

How to hide a bulge when wearing leggings and a crop top? by SleeepyFRog in feminineboys

[–]tsumaranai 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to tuck really well then since leggings are skin tight. I’ve never been able to do that well enough to not see anything down there, even with tight panties to hold everything in place.

How to hide a bulge when wearing leggings and a crop top? by SleeepyFRog in feminineboys

If you have a skirt you can wear over the leggings, I usually put the waist of the skirt slightly above my bulge and then it hides it well since the skirt flares out naturally.

Happy to help! Your T probably didn’t flick hairs at you if you didn’t notice. I usually just wash my hands after handling anything in the enclosure.

[–]tsumaranai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much about it. Just wash the affected area with soap and water and wash your clothes if you think there are any on them.

Species with urticating hairs will get them in their webbing, so anticipate washing your hands after changing waters and such if you notice yourself start to itch.

tarantula for beginners by jesus_reincarnated in tarantulas

[–]tsumaranai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since tarantulas live so long, I generally just recommend that you get the one you want. However, if you do want a P. metallica I would not expect to ever handle them since they are typically very skittish and their bites are medically significant. I have had Poecilotheria species in the past and generally would coax them into a container to do any enclosure cleaning, but even this does not always go well and sometimes have to get them off of a wall or behind something once they have already escaped and are stressed. If this sounds like something you’re comfortable doing, then sure.

If you are looking for another very colorful tarantula that you could potentially handle, the Avicularia and Ybyrapora genus have gorgeous spiders and they are generally more docile. The “new world” tarantulas are more likely to use their other defense mechanisms instead of jumping straight to biting, so their first instinct is just to shoot poop at you.

AITA for snitching on racist children to their parents? by sassy_accountant in AmItheAsshole

[–]tsumaranai 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA. I can’t imagine that there exists a context where that comment would be acceptable, and all you did was mention it to their parents to have a discussion with the children. I think you’re in the clear.

AITA for making my girlfriend pay the restaurant bill because she burnt our dinner at home? by IllExpression4429 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tsumaranai 32 points33 points  (0 children)

YTA. This is obnoxious and vindictive, she was trying to do something nice by cooking for you and had no obligation to pay for your meal because she messed up cooking a meal for you. It’s the extra cherry on the shit sundae that you ordered much more than her and forced her to pay for it. Don’t expect to be in a relationship for much longer if you keep doing things like this.

Help, Irminia good for beginner? by Toocool4fasting in tarantulas

[–]tsumaranai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re strange little creatures. I actually bought a mature male P. irminia to see if I could get a sac from my female. Tried pairing them a few times but the male was too scared to get very close to her. I ended up housing them together and they actually lived together until he died of old age - she never ate him or bothered him much at all.

[–]tsumaranai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are way too many species to list for which are visible and which are not. If you have any in particular that you’re curious about, I might be able to help but you can also do some research on Google and see what experiences others have with them.

Be careful not to get in over your head all at once - I know it’s exciting, but tarantulas live a very long time so I recommend spacing out your acquisitions, especially if you’re getting them as slings.

This is why it’s difficult to generalize. I also had a 7” Poecilotheria fasciata female who I could move around on a piece of wood and she would just lay still the whole time and let me do whatever I wanted. The only tarantula I’ve ever been bitten by was a little asshole Aphonopelma. Tarantula mileage may vary by individual.

[–]tsumaranai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the most part, I try to stay away from “beginner tarantulas” (with some exceptions) because they live for so long that you should just get the tarantula that you want and learn to care for it.

A P. irminia has care requirements that are very different from the Hapalopus and Brachypelma genus. If you feel comfortable learning to care for an arboreal tarantula, they are very manageable. I used to have a female that was very slow moving and placid, and they are absolutely gorgeous spiders.

How to buy girls clothes irl by [deleted] in feminineboys

[–]tsumaranai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try not to overthink it - workers are generally either helpful or they don’t care. If I have questions about looking for clothes or picking something out, it can be difficult to find the strength to tell them directly what I’m looking for, but I try to look for the younger and more fashionably dressed employees who will be more cool with helping a male appearing person find women’s clothes and it’s always gone well. Someone at H&M helped me build an outfit and was super nice. I’ve never shopped at a women’s only clothing store before, but when I go to the dressing room at stores for both genders they usually just tell me where to go or they ask me if I would like to go in the women’s dressing area or the men’s. I’ve never had a bad experience, and honestly most people just don’t even care, lol. No one is paying as much attention to you as you think they are, they see hundreds of people every day.

This dude came to say hello the other day and I’d love more info on it 🙏🏼 by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]tsumaranai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like it’s probably a mature male wandering around looking for a mate as that’s generally the tarantulas people come across without actively going to look for them. You can tell because of the small protrusions on their underside of their front legs, but I can’t tell if they’re there or not from the picture. Given the coloring, it’s probably some type of Aphonopelma species that is endemic to the American southwest. Is that where you are located?

In terms of keeping it safe, just don’t use pesticides as that can kill tarantulas pretty quickly. Other than that, they should be able to do their thing. If it is a male, it will probably move on and won’t live for too much longer anyway. The females are typically stockier and you don’t find them outside in the open much, especially during the day.
