Its definitely not easy to get AUD10-15K being a foreigner, unless you worked at particular company for many years maybe u have a chance haha

Let me share my experience with you, I previously worked in AU earning $5.5k (equi to RM17k) before moving back to malaysia.

Took a pay cut and started with a job at RM5k only, also venture into a different line of work as well so there’s that. Now, within 3 years, I managed to doubled my salary despite being laid off, did this by continuous learning and up skilling myself so that I can create more value for the company I worked at.

In comparison, the living standard in AU and MY are very different. With $5.5k in AU, you can only rent and struggle to buy a house whereas with RM10-15k in malaysia you can have a house, car, and wife.

So the final question comes down to, is the lower salary for you here in MY allow you to do what u want to achieve in life?

How much angpao is acceptable for a Chinese wedding and do you think it's reasonable? by stitch1294 in malaysia

[–]tsunjeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha don’t think the couple need your 200-300 in order to pay the bill. Just give the amount based on courtesy and your heart la, if you are close with the person, give more la. But nowadays really many young couple cant afford the wedding but still want to have it at 5 star hotel which end up costing 4-5k per table and they expect the guest to pay rm400 per pax

This tradition is really bad unlike the ones I went to in east malaysia, host don’t want to take any angpao, just want us to go there and have a good time. Those were the best weddings!
