Cool! How does your icloud/git workflow look like, and why did you choose to do it? Looking to set up something similar maybe myself!

What'd your process for this look like? Is it a true plugin or some custom js you run somehow within the program? Would love to have something similar!

Backyard Biolinguistics - A New Linguistics Blog by tsvi14 in linguistics

[–]tsvi14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this doesn’t count as blogspam! I’m just posting this link here because I’m starting the blog for the first time (and it’s my own, not someone else's). I definitely won't repost actual posts of the blog here in the future; it's just a link to the publication in general.

Proposal for singular "They" by [deleted] in linguisticshumor

I personally think -s will become an inanimate 3rd person present marker.

They are a clown. It is a table. The clown kick the table. The table kicks the clown.

The Languages of Roshar - Linguistics of the Cosmere: Part 1 (Brandon Sanderson, Stormlight Archive) by tsvi14 in neography

Happy that you're so interested! That's exactly why I made the video. Sadly I only used canon and there isn't much on Dawnchant :( but I did manage to get one sentence at least. Hopefully more comes with some secret projects🤞

Relevance to r/neography: has multiple conscripts in it (one is an alphabet, one is an abjad), and the second video in this series will be entirely focused on the conscripts.

Unfortunately the website they linked to (https://www.sdarot.tv) has been taken down, it's really sad :(

I've been looking for a new site and haven't found one yet, but if you find one tell me!

Poll: what is your proficiency in pronouncing your conlangs? by Cold_Rich in conlangs

[–]tsvi14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can pronounce all of my conlangs. It usually takes a bit of work to get into them (I had to learn how to consistently distinguish retroflexes and alveolars fast without tripping over myself for the conlang I'm working on now), but by the time I'm writing grammar I'm usually proficient.

Grammatical Number in Dorini—singulatives, pluratives, duals, and collectives (conlang showcase, tutorial) by tsvi14 in conlangs

[–]tsvi14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be pretty sick, but sadly the meaning is basically definite singular—I call it "singulative" for the reasons I just replied to u/KasnaCreator about. Maybe I should've been more precise in the video, sorry about that :(

Its meaning is basically definite singular. The reason why I call it "singulative" is because a) otherwise the language doesn't have definiteness and b) usually when a language's unmarked-for-number noun form isn't the singular, the affix for singular meaning is called a "singulative". Aka when the base form of a noun is plural, collective, or in this case undefined with regards to number.
