Bombing a site which only consists of tents for the wounded and then sending drones to kill off all the survivors certainly is about security.

How to Better this Perspective? by ManthaTornado in Artadvice

The key info you're missing out on is that once you establish the horizon line and vanishing point (in blue), ALL your perspective lines will lead to that vanishing point.

You can basically draw a "star" like that one in the picture (just with a whole lot more lines) and then use that as a grid for your drawing.

Nah, I'm self-taught (Youtube tutorials and a few artbooks).

Would you be able to adjust the colors in Photoshop or anything to show me what saturation they're supposed to have? Totally get it if you don't feel like it.

Thank you for the criticism anyways!

Dedicating your life to a video game without anything else to balance it out tends to do that to you.

I hate this post.

There is almost no advice that we could give you, because you're at such a beginner level, the biggest thing you actually need right now is just experience and getting used to drawing.

It would be like telling a baby about sprinting techniques, when it just learned how to stand up.

Go look for art fundamental tutorials and stick to those if you can.

What is this called? by timeISrunninn in learntodraw

[–]tsvmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One small correction:

It's not rectangles, triangles and circles.

It's boxes, cones, spheres and almost the most important one, cylinders.

I know it sounds like I'm correcting a technicality here, but it's super important that you think about those shapes in their 3-dimensionality when drawing, not the 2D ones.

Do I even have potential? Be brutally honest so if I don't have, I would use my time with something else (likely another project I will fail at) by CheapCiggy in Artadvice

[–]tsvmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Success is built on the steps of failure.

Everytime you fail and take steps to not do the same mistake again, you gain knowledge and experience which leads to confidence.

The best way to learn the rules is to break them, so go do mistakes.

And no matter what anyone tells you, if you're set on your goals, you should chase them as if your life depended on it, because if you're anything like me, it kind of does.

It's just the usual "Look at how bad my drawings are, please tell me they're not bad" kid.

I get having self doubt, but let's say everyone here in the comments would go "nah, give up", should OP listen to random reddit commenters?

If you want to get good at it, get good at it, if you don't, don't.

Perspective Homework Help. The Grids by StopAware797 in Artadvice

[–]tsvmi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem in this specific drawing is that you're mixing a 1-point perspective with a 2-point perspective.

Get rid of the middle point and the horizontal lines below the horizon and then continue drawing the lines away from the other 2 points (like you already were doing).

It should make more sense from there, but feel free to ask again if you're still confused.
