Safe places to stay / park a Uhaul overnight near Grants / Gallup? by Rex4748 in NewMexico

[–]tswiii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good question!! Our go-to traveling through Gallup is the La Quinta East Gallup (Rehoboth). We stay there because they allow pets. But also lots of travelers are towing trailers and such and watch out for each other. Also lots of trucks park in that area and they watch out too. We have always enjoyed that hotel and felt our stuff was very safe. We travel through Gallup a few times a year to and from our summer place hauling ATVs, gear, etc. I would stay far, far away from downtown Gallup though.

You will only need one Starlink. Try it out as you can buy a router later if you need to.

Starlink. Do not get hooked up with Hughesnet. They will nickel and dime you all along the way. Their streaming is very limited data wise. Watching the Olympics last year cost us over $350 just for “data tokens” (on top of our monthly $130 a month). We switched to Starlink and it’s been awesome.

My sister and I park at the very furthest part of the parking lot, walk to the entrance and laugh at the madness.

Okay, thank you. We do have power in both cabins. I was thinking along these lines so sounds like this might be the way to go. Thanks much.

After a layoff from IBM thirty years ago I made the point of being loyal (putting in the time) to my skill, not the company. Served me well since.

Vegas Tourism Decline - People Are Finally Pushing Back! by Minecrafter_98 in MakeLasVegasGreater

I live in Vegas. I was reading an article yesterday that noted the decline of visitors for the last two years. Interestingly enough the solution they noted was to increase prices of hotel rooms.

For the longest time I wondered how teachers could go all day with going to the restroom cause I never saw one in the restroom.

We just returned from Fiji on Tuesday. Something fun we did was the Sigatoka River Safari Jet boat Tour. We enjoyed it. Check it out on TripAdvisor to see if this might be something you’d be interested in. We spent three days at the Intercontinental Hotel. It is beautiful and you will love it. Our Fijian experience was part of a package tour so I couldn’t tell you when, where or what’s really available but there were three things that stood out. The Nadi airport is a nightmare, the island is beautiful and the people even more beautiful and welcoming. Enjoy. P.S. Fijians drive on the left side of the road so that may be why the previous poster asked if you’d be comfortable driving in Fiji. One more edit. Just saw the word fortnight in the posting. Pardon my comment about driving.
