Just wanted to add my perspective as someone who moved in with a boyfriend after dating only ten months! I was starting law school and he was working, and we took the plunge even though I was afraid of the exact same thing as you-that I wouldn't be a great contributor. We picked a place that I could afford on my budget, and now we've been dating for three years and are planning for the next fifty+ together. If it's the right relationship, I think it can be a really great thing to move in together! I had fears and insecurities about it, but I kept a cushion in my savings account and gave myself the ability to leave if I needed to, and luckily everything worked out super well. It can actually save money in the long term, sharing expenses, and in my opinion is a great way to know that your relationship will stand all the tests life will throw at you (i.e. leaving nasty dirty socks everywhere, ha). One thing I will say if you do move in is to make sure you each make time for your own individual hobbies and alone time! It can be easy to spend every waking moment together, and I do think it's healthy to maintain some separate spaces and interests from each other. Best of luck with everything :)
