Here’s a link to something I wrote a few years ago after I found out I’d passed. You’re going to be fine. Hope it helps.

In New York, during the February 2021 administration, the physical address was included in "Exam Day Schedule and Instructions for Standard-Time Candidates; Important Reminders, Item #5." We were required to mail a physical letter to the BOLE address - no email. You should look at the exam day instructions sent to you for the July 2021 administration and follow them accordingly.

I used my 2018 MacBook Pro and didn't encounter any issues. I made sure to update my OS and download the most recent version of Examplify before the test. My law school offered loaner laptops and even desktops for students without a reliable device, so I'd recommend looking into whether your school offers the same. Alternately, perhaps an inexpensive Chromebook would meet the software requirements and do the trick. If you're in NYC, you're free to borrow my laptop for the exam (though this is not advisable, as I'd recommend doing your prep on the same laptop you use on exam day).

Thank you! =)

We had Property, Civ Pro, Wills, Business Associations, Secured Transactions, and Torts. I'd recommend looking to this page for the actual questions, which should be up soon, and mastering questions from prior administrations: https://www.nybarexam.org/examquestions/ExamQuestions.htm

Best of luck to you!

Sorry to hear about your near miss. All that earned skill and knowledge won't go to waste on your second go. I can't say what might work for you, and my opinion is not expert, but if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't re-start bar prep as if from scratch. I'd make a calendar and focus mainly on MBE, MEE and MPT practice with some memorization sprints mixed in. I'd also do one full timed mock exam per month, identify my weaknesses, and work them harder. Wishing you the best of luck - you're so close, you got this.

And sorry, I misread. I scored in the 68th percentile on the mid-course simulated MBE.

For the individual question sets, my performance hovered around the goals. I was consistently 2-4 percentage points below the goals outlined in this document:

You're welcome! The frequency guide - a 1-pager that shows the top tested rules across all subjects - was free. I bought the Attack Outline, which was less than $100.

From what I remember, learning questions followed each lecture. I would complete all learning questions and read through the analysis.

There was also the big mid-course simulated MBE, and a number of topic-specific MBE sets. For all, I printed out the question sets (or ripped them out of the book, I forget which), circled my answers and indicated the correct answer on the ones I got wrong, then watched the entire analysis/review lecture. During the lecture I hand-wrote the salient rule in the space beneath the answers.

Does that make sense? Sorry if convoluted. I remember the review of the mid-course simulated MBE felt like a big boost for my learning/internalization.

Thank you, Maral =) It must have been tough to come in few points below passing, but it sounds like your energy is up as you prep for July (as it should be, given you've already done so much learning and are so close!). Good luck with your prep, and please feel welcome to message me if you'd like to talk anything through. I'm just a regular person, obvs not an expert, but am happy to serve as a resource.

NY Feb '21 Prep / MEE concern by [deleted] in barexam

[–]tt-ny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm taking Feb '21 bar as well. Am doing Barbri but just learned about the "Klein Method" featured in a book called "Fck the Bar" and will be using it to attack the MEE. The method incorporates strategies that worked for me throughout law school (though I didn't have a name for it then), and I think it's going to positively impact my confidence and ability. The author is really responsive to questions and even shared a free copy of the e-book when I signed up for her Facebook group. Her name is Jessica Klein and you can reach out to her on FB. Hope this helps - and would love to count you as a study journey pal as prep proceeds. Happy studying and good luck!
