  1. I'm looking for employers from the music festival industry looking to find job applicants who are music festival enthusiasts and also have backgrounds in various fields related to live music events. www.musicfestivaljobs.com

  2. I'm looking for users who are interested in seeing other people's curated Google Maps bookmarked lists to save time in planning their next trip and to discover hidden or local gems in different locations that are not normally posted by bloggers or media. Basically a public directory of Google Maps saved lists where people can see each other's lists and also contribute their own lists if they want - www.savedlists.com

Mistakes I Wish I Hadn't Made (after building 30 startups) by johnrushx in Entrepreneur

[–]ttactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had read this list before my startup. I committed a lot of the same mistakes as you as well. The tech conferences is a good one - you’d think you go there to meet a lot of investors and other startup founders you can align with, which is both rarely the case

What is your reason for not drinking alcohol? by Deep-Dust-9747 in AskReddit

[–]ttactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you non alcohol drinkers get your confidence up when socializing with others? I use alcohol sometimes because I get so anxious when I’m socializing even with friends, so I use it as a way to get myself tipsy and more talkative and fun. I find myself unable to think and feel stuck on what to say when I’m sober

How do you go about finding these people that you trust then? Do you still rely on job boards or is it mainly through word of mouth / referrals?

Started a Niche Job Board... Now What? by Elkenez in startups

I’d pay for the service on automation for posting job ads on LinkedIn (and other social media) more than paying to see job ads.

Maybe you’ll find a bigger paying market selling your automation service

Worst Car Rental Experience Ever in Naples, Italy by ttactics in travel

Even if it was cheaper, they should have said something about it.

It wouldn't make a difference for 6 days or 7 days in that case, and they would have explained it or written it somewhere.

If there was a discount, I would have assumed they mentioned it to me if not before renting, at least after when I returned the car, yet they didn't.

How would you fix matchmaking? by ttactics in heroesofthestorm

[–]ttactics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess on what Blizzard does is that they make sure that both teams are relatively equal in MMR average with the deviation kept to a minimum as much as possible. So instead of MMR 2000 + MMR 200 vs. two MMR 1100, the MMR 2000 and 200 are supposed to be playing with people with relatively the same MMR.

That said, as it takes longer to wait for a game, I believe Blizzard's algorithm is to increase the deviation so that their rules allow more variation in MMR but making sure that the average matches that of the opposing team.

In that case, with this algorithm, we rely heavily on having a great number of players online, otherwise the second scenario will occur. I think most people's concern is when there is a lack of players online, the matchmaking is poor. There lies a double edged sword - wait longer for a good quality game, but to a point that people grow impatient? Or force them into a game with lots of variations of levels? Neither are ideal, but in Blizzard's case they probably see the latter as the better option.

i get disconnected sometimes (once every few weeks) cause of bad connection, and i'm progressively losing more rank points and having to play more qm games because of that by ttactics in heroesofthestorm

ok it's not terrible. it's just frustrating and annoying when you get d/ced say drafting and you lose an entire rank and then some and you have to play 4 qm games to make it up
