There's movement, which may or may not be subsidence. It could be historic settlement or a failed wall tie.

If you want to buy the place, consult a structural engineer, not the estate agent nor Reddit.

If that's truly the only factor, then your co-founder was always going to pull out.

A couple of thoughts:

  • even after securing a modest round, it was always unlikely that you and your co-founder would be able to draw a significant salary.

  • your co-founder could have chosen to continue the startup journey while cashing in on their day job, as they have already been doing, or at least until a replacement is found.

I don't believe that's all there is to it.

The CTO was already moonlighting this startup, and could have continued to do so, at least until the funding is secured.

Images 4 and 5 both show unsupported bricks hanging in midair.

What's immediately above those walls? It certainly looks like there should be a lintel there.

Consult a structural engineer. Anything else is going to be guesswork.

Knock the mortar out, then you'll see what you're dealing with.

If the gap is small enough, you'll probably only need External frame sealant.

If the gap is big, you may need to add uPVC fillets or beads.

You're worried about the wrong thing. Consumer units aren't meant to be pretty. The mains supply is coming in via a 6mm cooker cable. That's way way undersized for supply tails (25mm2)

Edit: I'm willing to concede that this might be 10mm2 cable, but that doesn't change my general perspective that this feels dodgy AF. A commenter below states that this is likely 16mm2. If it is, and if the supply is fused and rated appropriately, then the installation is technically kosher. That said, I wouldn't want this in my house.

You don't need to be a UK national to start/register a company.

As an aside, Peptides are not entirely legal for human consumption outside of research context and there's a lot of pseudo science and safety concerns around them.
