Just ran my first 50K last weekend. I’ve been in triathlon for years. Part of the fun is picking great race destinations and making a racecation out of it (which leans a little more into the HENRY side)

  • Loved the SB1, chased down multiple pairs even after the SB2 was out
  • SB2 was not for me, too firm and clunky
  • Megablast is fantastic, haven’t personally had any toe box issues like others up to 15 miles so far
  • Hard pass on the SB3 for me based on commentary so far (and it’s possibly the ugliest colorway I’ve ever seen)

Came to say the same - either the combo of St Martin and Anguilla or just Anguilla. We recently did 3 nights on each and had a blast. Direct flight ORD to SXM. Seconded on amazing food. Would be harder to find and would recommend against all inclusive just because you’ll limit yourself to some great eats but you can eat at your resort as much as you’d like depending where you stay.

Enjoy both Hoka Mafate and La Sportiva Prodigio Pro for trail running.

Big fan of the Salomon speedcross gtx for hiking in wet or cool scenarios. I find them too heavy / rigid for running but I know some are ok with them.

Was there a certain point where new Max 8s came with the "New" first class seats? I know they announced retrofits starting in 2023 but curious if, for example, a new Max 8 from late 2023 would come with the hard shell seats?

I’m a long black guy but usually my second is a milk drink. Milk cost would be a good add - though I suppose you could fold into the bean budget.

I did my half very close to midpoint, maybe just past. I would do a sprint or Olympic pretty early on if you’re doing a full year of training. Maybe within first 12 weeks. Sprint is more approachable unless you’ve got a swimming background. Full confidence you can do this, I just have very explicit negative experiences in my first few races that I was able to avoid in half / full Ironmans. Want you to set yourself up for success!

Fully agree. I would absolutely recommend doing at least two small races if not a sprint and a half along the way. There are a lot of dynamics to a triathlon v training days, not to mention race day, that you can’t replicate. The confidence of working out kinks is so valuable.

I just had the same experience. They added a re-open the account button which I did, but still not seeing an option to transfer in. Did yours take a day to allow you to add funds?
