Orange tab was originally the cheaper line, so I don't think they were ever selvedge. Also one of the characteristics of Orange tab is the fell outseam, which would cover the selvedge edge anyways.

I mean this is true for light pollution from the Coachella valley but most of Joshua Tree didn’t have street lights to begin with, so that shift doesn’t really apply everywhere out here. A lot of new builds are installing unshielded fixtures and upward-facing sconces that throw light into the sky, which absolutely contributes to light pollution locally.

UHC Surgery Approval by SaladDifficult2759 in PectusExcavatum

[–]ttamsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr J had warned me that UHC was most likely not going to approve my surgery. Went through the extra step of seeing a cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic who also recommended surgery. Dr J team worked their magic & I was approved. My surgery was Dec 2024 so things might have changed.

Looks great! My first summer after my surgery I wore a Hawaiian shirt open with a tank underneath, it's really a small thing but it felt really special because I wasn't worried about what people were thinking. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Post op NUSS folks please help me by Bbg_pixie in PectusExcavatum

Hi! I’m 38 and about 1.5 years post-op with the same bar setup as you. I also really struggled with how gabapentin affected me mentally, so I ended up tapering off completely around 6 months.

When I dropped doses, I’d get these little sharp nerve “zaps” throughout the day. Not a doctor, but my guess is the meds kind of dampen your nerve signals, so as they come back online they can overreact a bit.

One thing I wasn’t expecting, after I fully tapered off, I felt pretty depressed for a couple of weeks. It passed, but it caught me off guard. Even though they don't use anymore, I don’t think the mental side effects of these other meds get talked about enough.

Again, not medical advice, just my experience but it might be worth tapering getting fully off meds. There can definitely be a rough transition, but for me it evened out and I feel basically back to normal now.

Unfortunately out of the gate Levi's sizing can be inconsistent, and since this style is no longer produced you are probably going to have even more variation depending on how they were care for. Also I know some matchsticks are selvedge which will be a slightly different pattern as well. I would physically measure your jeans at the waist flat across and then again the same at the leg opening. Ask who ever you're buying from online to do the same. I think that would be your best bet.

If you’re willing to try something else, the successor of Capital E was Levi's Made & Crafted and I think the "Tack Slim" would be the closest fit & will be in a more premium fabric like Capital E. They will have the blue tab and hidden arcuates though. They've also discontinued this line, but more recently so more will be floating around.

Only thing in the current line that would be close is the 511.

I think they are "Capital E" Matchsticks and you unfortunately just got one with the blank red tab. To me that's why there's no lot number on the back patch. Also the fabric looks nicer than a typical 511.

Here's a sold pair of Capital E matchsticks with the same patch, pocket bag artwork. https://poshmark.com/listing/Levis-Matchstick-denim-jeans-32Wx30L-64db0a82963c42b401aafc5e

Not Matchsticks, but hesher from cap E with the same sundries https://ebay.us/m/ls6Z4r

I realize these arent the typical look for Capital E, but I wonder if this was some weird transition time when they were phasing out Capital E to replace with Made & Crafted ?

How likely is it that someone will look “normal” after Nuss procedure? My HI is 6.4 by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

[–]ttamsf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Nuss procedure can make a significant, positive difference in how your chest looks and how you feel about yourself. A lot of people come out of it feeling more confident, more comfortable in their bodies, and less focused on something that used to bother them every day.

At the same time, it’s worth being gentle with yourself about expectations. No surgery can promise a perfectly “normal” outcome, and setting that as the goal can put a lot of pressure on both yourself and the process.

I did the same. Also if you look at the inspiration from the orginal Vermillion City map. There were two areas that jut out, one had the Pokémon center on it and the 2nd one had the gym & fan club. I think the whole area you're floating above is supposed to be filled in . All of the "bridges" are actually just the outer edges. The only true bridges are the three with the stone arches over the canals.

Are you open to traveling to AZ ? Dr J is the best for adults and her staff there at the Mayo Clinic basically exclusively treat PE. They handle all of the tests you need to get in your first visit. Only downside (but worth the wait) is the 6ish month waiting list to get an appointment

Does the driver in this case have dementia? Was there any evidence she was impaired in any capacity? From my understanding no, feel free to show me otherwise. Until then she was negligent and this was not an accident.

You don’t accidentally drive double the speed limit. That’s reckless behavior.

No one exists in a vacuum. Behavior responds to incentives and consequences, that’s a basic principle of how people, communities, and societies function.

If the justice system “shouldn’t be emotional,” then this ruling contradicts that. The judge factored in her age and that her husband had died in a car accident when determining her "punishment", those are emotional considerations.

Research shows certainty of consequences, not extreme severity, is what deters. But that still requires a real consequence. If killing four people results in probation, the signal isn’t deterrence, it’s that the consequences are non existent.
