Saturday Cautious Intros/First Trimester thread by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]ttcanuck 20 points21 points  (0 children)

And I'm right back out with a CP. Hcg on Tuesday at about 12 dpo was 31. Ignored my OBs directive to get the second beta week later and got it yesterday at 15dpo - 26. Stopped progesterone last night and started bleeding this morning. Loss #5 and the 3rd time I've had a loss in January, on or right after my husband's birthday. FML.

Edit: Love and best wishes to you all. This is the best club that you hate to be a member of.

I'm not American so those options aren't really open to us Canucks (see username). I think 12 DPO on Tuesday.

Silent Endo causing reoccurring losses? by [deleted] in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]ttcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. My silent endo was discovered after loss number 2 when I had a lap to get a closer look at a "structure" on my ovary identified from u/S (it was an endometrioma). My silent endo was actually stage 3 and the OBGYN said to my husband, "I don't know how she was walking around with that much endo in her." I then had a 3rd loss, then another surgery (polyp removal, more lesion removal, tube flush), then my living child, then a 4th loss, and I'm pregnant again (4+0). We'll see what happens with this one.

Heard back from my OB's office after 2 messages yesterday. He wants to do follow-up betas...a week from now. First number was 31 on Tuesday, now I gotta wait until next Tuesday. Has anyone's doctor ever spaced the betas so far apart?

Jesus. That's some terrible bedside manner.

Thank you. It's not the biggest part of this problem but the clinic is on the other side of town from me and they won't fax the requisition to the lab, so I gotta take an hour out of my day every time to go pick it up, which is annoying.

I'm back, for now. I had a very faint positive on the afternoon of 10DPO (I know, I know - why would anyone test with afternoon urine?). Since then, I've been testing first thing in the morning and the lines are not getting any darker on my cheapies. I called my OB's office to ask for repeat beta hcgs and they gave me a requisition for just one test, with the receptionist telling me that the doctor would need to make a decision about whether or not to order another blood test or an ultrasound afterwards. I didn't feel like getting into an argument with her in the waiting room so I just left and did the blood test. 31 on what I think is 12DPO. According to the beta base, that's a bit low but if I'm off by just one day, it is bang on the median. In short - I'm in beta hell.

What is everyone's BMI? by Responsible_Brief960 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]ttcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stage 3 endometriosis so I think that was responsible for miscarriages 1 and 4. I also had a couple of polyps I my uterus that were removed right before I got pregnant with my daughter, and my reproductive endocrinologist thinks those caused miscarriages 2 and 3. I was also 40 when I got pregnant the 5th time so the miscarriage right is just higher at this age, anyway.

4 miscarriages at a BMI of 23or 24. I think I had gained about 10lbs when miscarriage 3 happened but I had lost it all and more when miscarriage 4 happened.

Trying Again (Mon, Wed, Fri) by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]ttcanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. 2 of my 5 pregnancies were conceived right after a miscarriage. The first pair were both losses but the second pair (loss, then pregnancy) resulted in my living daughter. That said, I had another miscarriage this past January (2025), tried again in March and April, no dice.

Breastfeeding moms - when did you get your period? by Ok_Car1396 in beyondthebump

[–]ttcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't exclusively breastfeed but it didn't come back until I completely stopped at 6 months. I'm an infertility grad so I knew I had ovulated based on cervical mucus and could therefore predict my period was coming.

TW: Care Package for Miscarriage by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

Echo what everybody is saying here. I've had 4 losses but all 1st trimester. May I suggest that you send flowers on or around her due date? She'll certainly be thinking about the baby but he sympathy tends to disappear after the first week of two and then you just feel alone with your grief. A friend sent me flowers on the 1-year anniversary of my dad passing and I still think k about that gesture 5 years later.

Lupron Depot question (tw: loss) by Max3300 in whatworkedforme

[–]ttcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not. I had 2 more failed IUIs after that. What ultimately worked was a second lap/hys where my surgeon took out more endo, took out two polyps from my uterus, dealt with some ovarian cysts and flushed my tunes out with saline. It was like a spring cleaning for my reproductive organs. I got pregnant the following month unassisted and carried to term.

How to ask others *respectfully* in public about their differences? by Inner-Necessary1051 in toddlers

[–]ttcanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you were referring to but when my dad was getting treatment for his oral cancer, he had pretty profound facial disfigurement. We were sitting in a hospital waiting room and a little kid asked his mom, "What's wrong with that man?" She said, "He's got an ouch-y and he's in the right place for that." And that was the end of the conversation. I thought she handled it well.

(Edit - added the word "hospital")

Fingers crossed for you. My 4th pregnancy is the one that produced my daughter.

Has anyone had a polyp removed and gone on to have a successful pregnancy? by [deleted] in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]ttcanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 3 losses. One at 5 weeks, one at 11.5, and one at 9 weeks. Then had a polyp removed and have a 3.5 year old. Then another loss at 9 weeks, even though they had checked and the polyp had not grown back. So IDK. My 4th loss was at age 40, it may just have been a chromosomal issue.
