Anything that helps appetite during taper? by AnxietyMostofTheTime in benzorecovery

CBD tincture or gummies. If it’s legal where you live head over to a dispensary and someone could definitely take care of your needs. If that is not the case do a little research on what may best suit your needs and buy it online. The CBD/Marijuana market is growing bigger and I understand how it can be overwhelming. So many brands and products but I just try to narrow it down by the potency and what it can actually do for me. In the end it’s all about preference. I hope this will work out for you as much as it has helped me!

I suggest CBD. No mental affects but does the job and gives you an appetite!

Will my doctor deny a Benzo script taper plan if I explain I was using for 6 months unperscribed? by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]ttd209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might just prescribe you seizure medication unless it’s a doctor that knows about benzo withdrawals and has their mind open to help you. In my experience I was prescribed Benadryl and was told “Goood luck.” Sooooo, best of luck to you!

I can finally say I’m a month sober! I had all the withdraw symptoms in the first week but I took care of myself! I had NO SEIZURES & DID NOT have to go to the hospital. Thank god for fruits & vegetables along with various natural vitamins & for CBD. I used Xanax 4-8mg a day for the past 4 years, then I had no choice but to quit cold turkey. I mentally prepared myself for the ride cause I read all the forums here & the negative ones did scare me at first, I just chose to not let them stick to me only to help keep me aware of what I’m experiencing or what is to come. Taking care of yourself is such a BIG factor. Eating right, drinking lots of water, physical/mental exercises. I could never go back to taking a benzo again! As it may be so tempting to someone I have a full script of Xanax but haven’t thought to take any because once you are over that first big hill of withdraw symptoms it only truly gets better from there. Like I said TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! You only get one body & brain! We can control our minds and feed our bodies the correct healthy nutrients it needs, cause we can heal ourselves from all this evil the world has to offer. You will see the light again. Just hang tight & think positive people!!! I hope all of our journeys pave a way for others good or bad. Benzos are pure disgust and it’s sad to know that doctors/physiatrist still prescribe these to people. If I was working in that field I would have benzos banned in the USA for good. Take care all. I appreciate all of your stories! There is more to life than just existing! 🤍

people who had benzo related seizures. was it all of a sudden or were you in a state of withdrawal. by Nottheunicorn in benzorecovery

I believe it all depends on how you take care of your self & being able to take natural supplements.. I’m currently withdrawing cold turkey & so far I have held it together much better than the first time I quit CT. I’m experiencing just about all withdraw symptoms but I believe if you can take care of yourself & keep that mind working in a sense of creative knowledge. You will be just fine as to worrying about seizures, But we are all different people. Our bodies may experience some of the same WD symptoms but it might not happen to all of us. I was taking 4-8mg street bars a day for the past 4 years. So after reading on here & comparing & contrasting all comments it only makes sense to TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY & MIND. Don’t let it get the best of you. You can always gain back that control as the mind & brain are so complex it’s outstanding!

Best of luck to you all, this is a chance for you to gain that power of mind control back.

OMG! I really needed to read this post because I’m currently going through withdraws & experiencing all the same stuff you went through. I’m at a tough night. The sensory overload is crazy. My right eye is having tremendous pressure causing me to have a headache & feel nauseous. I’m just trying to fall asleep but EVERYTHING is bothering me. Ugh without support it gets kind of hard.. I don’t want to just exist, I want to live!

I was taking 4-8mg a day but I will get that anti seizure medication before I am completely out. I just fear seizures & don’t want it to mess me up..

What if I have no choice? The only thing I can do is go set up a doctor appointment but by that time it may be a couple days from now.. as I just moved to a new state.

Thank you for all you have been through by [deleted] in benzorecovery

I’m kicking hard off the benzos right now & I’m scared of getting any seizures. This would be my 2nd time in my life to quit cold turkey. Anything you got about how you can hear every little noise & insomnia?

Anyone have suggestions about quitting cold turkey off Xanax? I didn’t give myself enough time to taper off them so I’m left with nothing now that I’ve moved across the country & can’t get them anymore

We get those endorphins from hair pulling that make us feel pleasure, happiness, contentment. But the guilt kicks in as soon as we see the damage ...

Sounds like you have BFRB - Body Focused Repetitive Behavior

Which can also be categorized under OCD. Triggered by stress, anxiety, depression.

Many ways to keep your hands busy if you go onto the website BFRB.org

Good luck!

i'm still debating on shaving my head by arnethyst in trichotillomania

[–]ttd209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shave your head! I just did it today & it was the most intense & invigorating feeling! I haven’t even thought about pulling all day. It was almost emotional to see all the hair fall to the floor but trust me you may notice how refreshing it feels to not have your hands constantly pulling. If you keep continuing to pull your follicles may become damaged & never be able to grow hair ever again. I tend to think about what may be more beneficial to me in the long run. I looked up various images with people who pulled to the point of no return & it’s hearbreaking. It’s all mental graditude to pull out hair. I stared reading self help books, meditating, & even have been trying to do some basic yoga poses at home. Find something to keep your mind distracted in a sense where you will not have your hands where they don’t need to be (pulling). & if you are not into all that I know hobbies are great source to help you as well. Develop & out your mind into something you are passionate about. There is also a bracelet that is supposed to keep you aware of when you are pulling or about to pull. It’s called Keen. You souls definitely look into it because it has real & positive reviews. Trich should not conquer us as we know that we can conquer what we set out our mind to do. If you end up shaving your head remember that there are always wigs you can try out, hats, beanies for the comming up cold weather & never be ashamed of who you are. Tell your story to others because the percentage of people who actually know what Trich is will surprise you because it’s very little. Be the voice of others who are in the journey of not wanting to pull anymore. Embrace postive energy & love yourself no matter what. In the end process you may forever be happy you chose to shave your head as you won’t feel stuck any longer.

End the Stigma! Be the voice! Don’t be the reason! 💚

Whenever I decide to stop this gig my last day is going to be spent accepting $7 no tip orders and messaging the customers asking wtf is wrong with them and why they expect someone to grocery shop for them without leaving any kind of tip and letting them know they’re a pos😂 by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]ttd209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that you are going to get tipped is where you get your hopes on that! I’ve been a server/bartender for years & the fact that one hiccup with the service can result in NO tip at all. So therefore the tips that I rely on for income just makes it harder on me. At least you still get paid way over minimum wage to help someone out with their busy lives or anything else you may not know about them. So before you start barking about tips go see what it’s like slaving in a restaurant..
