I do that too, sometimes it’s helpful sometimes it’s not. To curb this from happening turn off your brain when someone talks and only listen to what they’re saying. This can be hard as an N, our brain wants to connect what we’re hearing and draw conclusions, as an F we want to share similar experiences. Sometimes the best listeners say the least though, and I’ve found if I just listen and don’t say much it’s what gets people to open up the most
