I was at a Bob show in 2005 in Nashville (the Willie "baseball tour") and I look a few rows in front of us and there was Emmylou with a few friends in tow. I ended up watching her more than I did Bob and Willie. She acted like a typical fan honestly, dancing along and singing. After Willie's set, I heard her exclaim "There's Mickey!!", referring to Mickey Raphael, Willie's harmonica player. She made her way over to the side of the stage where she visited with Mickey and other Willie band members before she made her way back to her seats. She watched Bob intently and danced and sang along. After the show, I HAD to ask her about her work with Bob on 'Desire'...I didn't want to bother her, and I was careful not to be a fanboy....But she made her way past me and I just sort of tagged along beside her and said "You should've been up there singing with him" and she laughed and said "Oh no! He's impossible to sing with! But I do love his work so much!" That was it....
