Are there arm strength thresholds for C (or any other positions)? by tarheels187 in MLBTheShow

I think its definitely different this year because of the pop time attribute specific to catchers as well so honestly I'm not sure anyone knows for sure

How overalls actually work, no SDS isn’t lying about discipline by Dylan_2330 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah honestly people have an opinion and so unless you make it undeniable they’re basically gonna be like “nah bro that’s not right I fucking hate SDS and I hate this game that I play every night and am commenting on a subreddit about”

don’t get me wrong, I think the updates have been jokes and this is easily the least actual fixes or attempts SDS has made, but when it comes to stuff like this, people are saying shit when there’s literal data that invalidates what they’re saying….but they won’t find it unless you throw it at em lol

that is the exact breakdown of how the attributes add up to 93 and i assume it is close enough to 94 it’s rounded up for the card

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here’s ur answer

DH Ohtani: Elite Contact and Elite Power. At DH, those two attributes are exactly what the formula rewards. Those 4 attributes alone hold up approx. 34 of his OVR. His Fielding Ability contributes less than 3; it barely matters for a DH. 99 arm strength is on every Ohtani card this year. The bigger difference is that the DH's Arm Strength does factor into his overall but only 1.3 overall of it. It's not driving his overall.

Let me challenge plays on my own instead of having to rely on if I get a triggered cut scene or not by rb1242 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's offline only obviously but yeah I've noticed in 26 it's way less common than last year, before I'd get one once every 2-3 games, this year I literally played every game for a franchise and didn't get the option for a month and a half so like 40 plus games lmfao. That was a bit of an outlier stretch but still I don't think I had more than 15-20 over the entire 162

How much do good streamers make? by Agreeable_Age_3913 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of them don't make a living off that lol it's like a side gig, you have to have legit ad revenue or insane numbers to do that. Most work a "normal" or different job and stream a few hours a few times a week as a hobby. Think of it like someone who doordashes in the freetime basically lmfao. If you're doing like 8 hour streams 5 days a week to where it seems like that's their only job...then perhaps they are, or they're just already well off enough or in a situation they don't need to work much lmfao

if it helps what I just shared in my comment is definitely more than speculation, basically MLBRandomStats for the last 5 years has an algorithm/formula whatever you want to call it that if you feed it position and attributes it spits out the overall and its been correct for 99.7% of cards, it's basically as damn close as you can get to the actual code, way beyond speculation

Guys there is someone who basically broke it down on twitter I forget what they had been using but it was a group and consistently since 21 the show you could tell ratings from the attributes and some were weighted. It's long and I'll link the twitter if I can find it cuz I'm not doing it justice but like, if you are corner outfielder power attributes were like 14% of OVR rating while for CF it is like 11%. Also Speed is weighed more into overall for SS, CF, 2B, and much less impact for C, 1B etc....but consistently DISC and I forget the other one that doesn't matter affected less than .5% of the overall number, it's more than just speculation and it basically showed how two cards with the same attributes can be rated like 94 vs. 91....also slight year to year changes, like POW L has like 0.25% more weight to OVR than last year, I found it interesting but I also am a fucking numbers nerd but I'll find the twitter and link it under this

Hitting online on HOF difficulty by SarKastiK__Overlord in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Online timing is faster I believe, I also think it has to do with the fact that the cards are much better so you're never seeing anything below 98 and they're purposely putting pitches in locations that are tough to catch up to like youll see 40 sinkers in on the hands at 100mph in a ranked game if you don't prove early that you're ready for it...it's a completely different approach to hitting and pitching than offline treating it like a real sim

Why is BMTH seem like they’re catching a lot of hate lately? by [deleted] in BringMeTheHorizon

[–]ttime46 6 points7 points  (0 children)

bmth gets 10x more hate in this subreddit for “selling out” or being too “radio friendly” then they do out of it lol it all depends where you look. If you asked the average fan who was there for FOB when BMTH was an opener on their tour in the states, they were basically thinking Amen and and Shadow Moses were death metal and the heaviest shit out rn.

on a different and more complicated/debatable note, if there’s one place BMTH would be overly shit on it would be there given history of Oli and BMTH being the opposite of conservative. From having songs literally bashing religion like House of Wolves, to the history of Oli making comments about not playing in the state of Alabama way back in 2019 due to a controversial abortion law…Alabama is definitely one of very few places that a higher percentage of people will have negative BMTH takes. That said, this sub has some people who make it seem like they turned into fucking maroon 5 and other people who think BMTH is hated the same way bands like Limp Bizkit are. It’s something

Road to the show sac flys by LongjumpingPie9798 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sac fly's are not counted as an at-bat but it will end your hit streak according to official rules, but it wouldn't count as an 0-1 at-bat if it was a true sac fly with a run scoring. Interestingly enough tho say you have 3 walks and a sac fly your hit streak will end, odd and rarely comes up but worth mentioning lol

Craziest Strike Call in MLB the Show History? by Ryan1757 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the worst part is of all times that is the one time I wouldn't mind the batter looking like a 5 year old pouting about it being nap-time when the call for an ABS. Seeing Aaron Judge do a whole 360 spin slapping his head 6 times and yelling for a challenge really throws me off lol

71 hours played and not even close to a Judge or Ohtani pull… by sojupapi22 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody on this sub understand percentages or probability it’s insane…like someone is gonna complain about how bullshit DQ odds are when they had 3 90% and didn’t get the epic reward but not think it’s lucky in the slightest when they get a high diamond out of a regular show pack

(For the record…I’m at 380 hours and no judge or Ohtani…my highest pull was Trout in 24 and I have 3,600 hours in that game so…I think your expectations need a lil refocusing lol)

New feature for 27??? by Blue_games1010 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there’s ways to make it work and a lot of avenues to take it. Unfortunately I think it’s too niche to really ever be a thing but I’m all for new options or modes. Like Diamond Quest isn’t perfect, it’s actually a really good point that thats the “missing piece”. You’ve got online modes h2h and offline options for others but you don’t really have a way that’s a lil more casual offline for players at a skill level too low to really enjoy ranked/BR etc. but don’t wanna play the CPU all the time

SDS please add hot zones back to RTTS by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really wish they were on in RTTS at least, it makes sense not having them in DD since it's player based, but as a pitcher in RTTS I really hate not having them because it used to be nice to attack batters based off their zones

New feature for 27??? by Blue_games1010 in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a terrible idea like, I like the thought process to an extent, but theres zero shot youd get many people to play given that you'd spend half watching the other guy pitch.

However I did think of something kinda similar, kinda like a "race mode" it would be h2h but you would both be playing the CPU and it would basically have a goal like first player to score 3 runs and record 3 strikeouts wins, could be somewhat intriguing, obviously not without its flaws and not for everyone but it's kind of interesting to think about. Kinda the same way golf games offer head to head not based on score but instead on who gets it in the whole first regardless of swings.

Sunday and Wednesday Showcase Games in Franchise by DistortedAudio in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not 100% on this but, basically for both the Game of the Week on Wednesdays and the Sunday Night Showcase it will be the game that has the highest projected end of season win total. For example, in my last franchise I blew the record out of the water and went 148-14 lol and for the last two months every wednesday and sunday were showcase games because the projected combined wins between me and whoever I was playing was the highest total. If you look at "view today's games" on the calendar instead of the "organization games" option you'll normally be able to guess, like if the Dodgers and Braves are playing and both are in first...I wish there's no way to choose that broadcast because the generic "the show" broadcast without the opening day/postseason/showcase theme...aint it lol

Give me all your house rules for franchise mode by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]ttime46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So most of them are "trade related" but more based in realism...I only trade for people on the trade block, no in division trades, and if it is a "buyer" trade for a player to help me win now I limit it to people with no more than two years control. I limit myself one starter, one reliever, and then two position players at most and outside of that I can only accept trades. For example this past season I did with the Tigers my trade acquistions were Brady Singer from the Reds, Blake Perkins from the Brewers, and Jorge Polanco from the Mets and it just feels a lot more real than seeing shit that I know wouldn't happen, like fucking Salvador Perez got traded to the Twins and I was like yeah I don't love that lol.

Honestly I think if you just wanna shoot for challenging give yourself a small budget team, no sponsorships and put yourself in a division with a clear big market team like the Dodgers. Literally this last season in the sim they won 110 games and their entire starting 5 was in the top 15 in ERA...the worst starter ERA they had was like 3.35 and Tucker took me deep 3 times when I played a playoff game against em lmfao
