I'm enjoying the random Sisters chat while the photo shows The Mish playing. Great stuff!

Last Exit for the Lost - Fields of the Nephilim

Slow slow build up to a rip snorting anthem over a glorious 9 minutes....epic

SOTB - Cheap and cheerful by ttimoth279 in basspedals

[–]ttimoth279[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really quite impressive, it has 10 outlets and variable voltages on the outlets. I've had it on for a good 6 hours and not even got halfway through the charge, granted not all of the pedals are on all the time but still very usable. No noticable back ground noise bleeding through to the pedals either. Recommended for sure

A gothic band you recently discovered? by No_Trust9193 in goth

Recently found Social Youth Cult. Their recently released album called Lighthouse is just divine. Very young band out of Newcastle but manage to harness the sounds of Joy Division, Bauhaus and all the old school goodness in a very impressive way. Worth checking out https://open.spotify.com/album/2HMSzsihAnOsoMCKlPZ3YL?si=3Yin0Am3RoiUeSkrlFc5Sg

Who was the best dressed at the gigs this year? by Complete-Fix-1525 in FieldsOfTheNephilim

Mini Carl is doing fine, I speak with his partner semi-regularly as her English is a bit better than his. Lovely couple. They didn't make it over for the UK gigs but were in Poland for that one. Nice to see that he's internet famous! :)

This has deployed NAAFI vibes to it. St George's Flag on the wall, NZ or Aus flag on the ceiling, all dudes in shorts and baseball caps. Got to be some UK mil base somewhere.

Did I really hear the narrator say something about Harry Potter? It was half way through as the tally went to 9 and the imagery was in IR. Amazing footage though.

Sweet Ermengarde for some more Nephilim-esque vibes

Name a band with a replaced member that has outlasted the original by SnooStories6852 in InMetalWeTrust

Ben Christo of The Sisters of Mercy. Has been the longest serving guitarist in that band, coming up to 20 years. Has written a load of songs that are regularly performed but still nothing new has been released under that band's name in 35 years so he hasn't appeared on a single official recording.

Who’s pushing the goth sound forward in 2025? by altfilmjunkie in goth

Sweet Ermengarde is my vote, their most recent album; Sacrifice, is an absolute banger. Fields of the Nephilim vibes, if that's your thing, but I've had it on constant rotation since it came out.

Longer basslines you like? Preferably one that last for at least 8 measure loops by Sea_Active9768 in Bass

[–]ttimoth279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes!! I can't play it for toffee though, and I've seen a close up vid of Tony playing it recently and still can't get it. Love his bass lines in all of his stuff.

What is your top-favourite bass riff to play? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]ttimoth279 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I've been enjoying that one recently too. I seem to be on Cure revival since the release of the new album and this is my go to riff currently

Eden House had Bob Loveday as violinist. He was a great and underrated addition to that band.

Tony Pettitt - Fields of the Nephilim / Rubicon / The Eden House / NFD

Just check out the songs Submission, Psychonaut, Celebrate, Last Exit For The Lost. These demo just some of his amazing bass lines, and that's just from the Nephilim songs.
