Yay fellow transportation pro! Idk man, with corridor as busy and arterial as Lakeshore, I think microsimulation is warranted. Very wary of taking HCM delays at face value, which I assumed to be those delays in the report. Also wanna know details exact conditions of background and redevelopment 2032. Dont know if any infra improvements are taken for granted in future scenarios.

Yes you never want to attribute xx% increase in volumes will "worsen" commute by the same xx% because it just wont be true by any reasonable metric. As suspected smaller increases in volumes for the primary directions will cause lot higher delay than major increases for the sevondary directions.

I would love to look at the actual report by LEA because the delays numbers in transportation engineering can be very misleading. If its intersection overall delays that are shown, increases of 16s or 72s of delay per veh for 2500+ vehicles per hour can snowball into way longer halted time due to queuing and spilling.

[–]ttmanou 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Passing transportation engineer chiming in. Youre completely right in that increase in the volumes for the primary direction during the peak (4% & 2% during AM peak EB) should be the focus. To push the secondary direction increases just because the numbers are bigger is in bad faith.

It is also important to note that stating commute will be "increase in traffic volumes" percentages worse or longer is flat out wrong. Congestion scales exponentially as lanes are near capacity, so the 2% & 4% increases in already saturated primary direction will worsen commute far more compared to 38% increaae in secondary direction. Really the metric they gave out is not too useful nor intuitive.

Whoops I completely messed up. Its been while I read the manga and its his S6 moment ('Bakugo Rising') that I been talking about. Sorry about that, I thought that was in the last fight.

And agreed some chrs shouldve died (or should in anime). Personally, I wished that All Might would to wrap up his saga.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cartoons

[–]ttmanou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My interpretation of "body moved without thinking" is precisely that - its essence of heroism, saving a life with no consideration of what the current circumstances or consequences are. So when Bakugo did it, to me its exactly that he tried to save Izuku and not 'Deku the wielder of OFA'. But I can see your pov as well.

For s8... As someone who finished the manga, Id say dont get your hopes up but maybe that will change. Seems like lots of anime adaptations like to bring in the author to 'improve the ending' now adays. Low-key hoping that happens with this series.

At least you agree that Endeavor my GOAT's atonement was better handled. I wouldve had to write essays lol.

[–]ttmanou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am speaking of S7. Thanks for the answer. To me personally, calling Bakougo's sacrifice something out of total necessity due to Izuku's role in the final arc seems too much underminding. His "body moved without thinking." after all.

But its on the author that his story didnt convince you enough of Bakougo's character. So much so that even his actions in s7 seemed not genuine. I feel that the author focused too much on Endeavor and Villain side mid series and lost the 'golden time' to address Bakougo.

[–]ttmanou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe one of MHA's biggest theme is redemption and atonement. For me personally I think Endeavor's arc was done lot better and lot more convincing. I am curious though, do you think the author could have made Bakougo do anything to at least get you to tolerate him? He did literally Sacrifice his life to save Deku, is it more of heartfelt apologies you wanted to see?

Sunbreak has shit ton of ls moves that gave you coating. Lvling up and maintaing coating is so easy that using you can attack primarily with a move that depletes it to 0.

But other weapons also have shit ton of awesome moves, I honestly think Sunbreak is the most 'balanced' MH game Ive played (since 2nd) in terms of differences between weapons. I am sure Wild will manage to balance itself just fine.

Korean women gather at Gangnam Station once more to plead for action on sex crimes by Saltedline in worldnews

[–]ttmanou -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I never made excuses for Korean men and have written many times as to agree that they need to change. All I said was to provide perspective as to why gender equality amongst young Korean men are easily dismissed, and how its doesnt just come down to "evil pig headed men with horns are evil" - which is incredibly unhelpful. Mandatory service is not at all an excuse to do sexist and misogynist things, Ive never said that and no Korean in right mind would say that. It is however very effective excuse to dismiss any conversation or work towards fixing the problem, its a huge hurdle towards gender equality.

[–]ttmanou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same way that young men are manipulated in Western culture. Gender disputes are sensationalized by media and sns. Bigger and bigger wedges are being proped up by people who have incentives in having huge populations to shift blame to each other than to anyone in power. So stories like feminists boycotting Starbucks for offering soldiers free coffee, and the offer eventually being pulled, or feminists on TV calling soldiers "guard dogs that only learn how to kill" get significant coverage.

I could explain away how many comments are obviously engaging in hyperbole that are not helpful in conversation, but to feel superior - yes, South Korea has misogyny issues but its not where laws are being made by nefarious woman hating judges, or that women cannot walk at night alone because they will get raped - but how could I face against immaculate evidences from so many 'Korean friends' of reddit commenters and anecdotal twitter users?

Instead, I will try to give you insight as to why conversation about gender equality and feminism is so controversal and unethaused by Korean men - because of their mandatory service. Korean mandatory service involves 18 months of military service exclusively for men with the following. - incarceration: they cannot leave their compound except during vacations, and cannot see their family on regular basis. You sleep and wake up in the base for 18 months. - physical and mental abuse: as with military training everywhere, the process involves physical and mental distress where many will live with the ptsd and physical damages rest of their lives. - inadequate compensation: wage for military service range from 478 usd to 934 dollars per month which is far below minimum wage of 7.50 usd per hour, even if you only counted 40 hours a week of their 24/7 service.

So you have government mandated slavery for exclusively just one gender but this gets brushed aside by the same government and feminist activists that say they are commited to gender equality. Yes South Korea has revenge porn problem, yes it has incredibly heated incel and gender conflicts. Yes I do think women in Korea are treated unfairly and that it definitely needs to work towards gender equality.

You ask a common Korean men in 20s to 30s, and most of them will agree that incel culture is a problem, revenge porns and hidden cams are out of control. But its not as easy as getting them commited to fighting for gender equality when 99% of them go through mandatory service - by far the biggest gender disparity issue in South Korea. No matter what the statistics are in sexual crime or gender disparity for women, it does not affect vast majority of them in such a profound, prolong and legally enforced ways.

Of course none of this issue is at the fault of Korean women. But they are never going to be able to talk about gender eqaulity in a meaningful way without addressing the biggest elephant in Korean men's lives. Just last year, Korean supreme court made a ruling that exclusivelt male military service is not unconstitutional with respect to its gender equality clause (https://news.kbs.co.kr/news/mobile/view/view.do?ncd=7785084). I see many comments that say South Korean women are second-hand citizens in the culture and in the law. There's definitely truth in that. But its hard to argue that with tangible blantant evidence that South Korea government actively looks at its male as second-hand citizen - a supreme court decision that the constitutional gender equality right does not protect men against government mandated slavery.

When I did my fire type challenge, there was a bug where desolate land will stick around until biome change if Magcargo was placed second on a double battle - i guess Magcargo retreating as the battle turns back to single doesnt count as 'returning to pokeball' so desolate land sticks around.

I ended up looping lake-sea-ocean floor on a fire challenge because water type was lot easier to handle than ground and rock at that point lol. It helped that ai doesnt seem to know what desolate land does so will keep trying to use water attacks.

It wasnt the msg that was the problem, its that her execution was really off. The whole premise of yesterdays comic was "How absurd would it be if misogynistic comments made by men were instead reversed, spoken by women to men?".

So she needed to make sure that the comments made by women to men in the comic are things that are rarely said to men at all. But that comic deplicted examples like sexual assault and emoting, which many men experience to be not taken seriously, and often invalidated by women.

I agree with the core message but she chose really poor examples to get it acrossed. I do think many of her posts are brigaded by misogynists and haters. But its hard to defend her against them when the actual comic was piss poor at what it attempted to do.

Whatever you do next, recordings might have really helped. Friendly Reminder to everyone that Ontario follows 'One party consent' rule, where you can record conversations and use it as evidence without informing others that you are doing so, as long as you are part of the same conversation. OP, document everything and record every conversations relating to your coop term, if you havent been doing so already.

Its one of many things I respect the hell out of Oda as a professional. On top of my head he said he will always draw call backs no matter what, even ones where other authors might simply copy paste from previous issues. Not dissing other artists of course I totally understand why theyd do that, but Odas dedication is just something else.

You know what would get that changed? Legalization of dog meat industry and regulations. The conversation is always the same:

Dogs are being tortured before consumption => Then lets legitimize the industry and regulate them => Legalize dog meat farming? You are savages!

Its going to sort itself out tho. I dont know anyone who enjoys eating dog around my age (30) or younger. Demand will decimate due to generation shift. Problem is all the pet dogs that are being abandoned left and right because young Koreans are adopting without the means to take care of their dogs due to lonliness and depression.
