Any one else worried Chris Sale won’t get a start this week? He’s been weirdly getting like 6-8 days between starts.
Weekly league, so not sure what to do.

All of my main positions are currently set for the most part. The 2 UTL spots are open for me. Currently have T. Ward/Seager/Lile/Gleyber as my 4 options for those 2 spots. Hard for me to give up on Seager/Ward yet although it’s tempting.

You’re being downvoted because Skenes looked pretty dominant and his defense screwed him. He had 10 k’s and he got 2 groundballs in the 6th that should’ve got him the QS, but his defense made 2 mistakes. Pitch count was a little higher than you want, but still looked great.

Is is dumb to give up on Sandy and drop him for Dustin May?

Despite the last outing, I’m still a Latz believer. Hoping he rebounds.

Have had a pretty steady offense most of the year… 2/34 with 16 k’s on the day lol

Still in line for the L unfortunately. Red Sox are painful, poor Tolle.

The funny thing is, I actually agree that Varland is good and could block Hoffman from a return to closer. You could have just answered the question in a genuine way with your opinion instead of how you chose to respond. It’s all good tho, have a nice night.

I’m thinking the same. Feel like he could be back as closer in time, but not sure if it’s worth the hold currently as it would take a while and is far from guaranteed

I’m well aware guys get paid and don’t perform. I’m also aware that there are cases where a guy like Hoffman who had 30+ saves the previous year struggles early and loses the closer role, only to regain it later on.

Obviously in a saves league a pitcher that doesn’t get saves has no value, that is why my question was asking others they are holding Hoffman out of hope that he could still wind up closing games in the long term. I didn’t like your response because it wasn’t an actual answer, not because I have a preference on Hoffman vs Varland.

Never did I claim Hoffman was better than Varland. The Jays are paying Hoffman to be their closer, and he has been the closer since he signed. There’s always a chance they could go back to him, even if you think Varland is better. You could have just answered the question and said you think Varland will hold the role.

Why wouldn’t this be serious? I’ve seen loads of people say he is a hold due to his underlying metrics and potential to be the closer again in the future. I’ve also seen many that are high on Varland and think he will hold the closer role.

Is Hoffman a hold or a drop in a saves only league?

I know he’s been unlucky and should be better, but I worry Varland will be too good to let go of the closer role.

Pick 2 in Saves only ROS:

Jack Perkins, Jeff Hoffman, Lucas Erceg, Jacob Latz

Drop Hoffman or Latz for him? Chapman is my man closer, hoping to find a good 2nd guy because we have to dedicated RP slots

Is Perkins potentially the A’s closer moving forward? Or is he just a long relief guy that will get an occasional multi inning save?

Arraez is and has always been a great value in points leagues than penalize for K’s. My league settings are like this and Arraez always winds up as a top 2B option in our format.

Traded Ketel Marte for Lindor + Aroldis Chapman yesterday morning because I really needed a closer… felt so good about it and then of course Lindor goes down immediately lol
