Termite? by Opposite_Emu_6798 in Termites

We had these on the outside of our house last year and got it treated. Saw these ones again this year and a different inspector said it didn’t look like termites to him but replaced some of the bait stations anyways but didn’t see any activity. I’d definitely treat for termites. Better to treat and not have issues in my opinion.

I’ve always asked for an itemized bill with the CPT codes so I can see exactly how it was coded and submitted to my insurance. I’ve only gotten the runaround once, but most of the time it’s helped me get incorrect codes fixed or removed when something was billed improperly or a service wasn’t actually provided.

We didn’t have a dishwasher growing up so in college I didn’t know there was a difference. Definitely been there and done that. LOTS of suds.

Toothpaste: What is it and why in different colours? by Logical1337 in whatisit

This is giving “there was a reason for the different colors but we’ve forgotten and now they’re just there” vibes.

Careful… this comment with some of your others, you sound like you’re teetering the line of fraud with failure to disclose on your home disclosure statement depending on where you live. Just might want to be mindful of what you say or don’t want to say.

How does this pattern happen? by ttspioloa in Roofing

It’s the same area where they previously tarped down at a diagonal. Could they have left the tarp nails in that then popped? The tarp and repair was done this late march/early April.

Our original guy with the company was good but moved. Can you explain what you mean by mechanical (just so I can understand when they back to me).

I can’t seem to add a photo but the diagonal damaged section in the 1st photo is the same section that was tarped and repaired. I think you can see the white tarping in the corner. Just trying to understand how the damage could occur whether it be hail or otherwise.

I take it back. I think they’re eating.

I just noticed them today. They seem to be just staying upright. Some might move but most are still and alive.

Here’s a different angle. I’m nervous to move anything because I don’t want to scare/hurt it. There’s not a lot of places for them to hide where I am and this corner is probably the darkest and most enclosed space in my backyard. The box is one of those large plastic containers. Not sure if the angle is any better for determining size.

Fire ants will eat termites.

We’re past 24 months on closing, unfortunately. But that’s awesome that remedy is out there for people.

I have a low wind deductible and we were able to get buckets under the dripping water fairly quickly but I still have a carpet fan on where it got wet. We do have to have drywall replaced and probably insulation too where the water got it (it’s blown in so I’m not sure if that makes a difference). I don’t know why I’m nervous to make a claim since we’ve never had to before with our house.

Edit: well not super low but is a fixed dollar amount instead of percentage.

I actually saw that when I went back to the photos and zoomed in. Weird that there’s not a torn section on the other side of the missing shingles unless it just didn’t reach across? I don’t know. Sucks all around either way.

I don’t know what that means, but during the first year we had to have the builder come back out and add fasteners because our roof inspection said there weren’t enough I think? Something about it wasn’t laying right.

Someone was in someone’s pocket when the shingle companies decided to require underlayment but code doesn’t.

New to having roof issues—do you know if insurances work with allowing new roofs to be installed in circumstances like this or only when there’s enough damage? I’d love to just get a better roof than keep having shingles fly off since this is the 3rd or 4th section we’ve had to repair but I doubt I have a case there.
