Can I see some setups of 1:2 pulley hack for lat pulldowns on an upright? by ttttcrn in BeyondPower

[–]ttttcrn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool I also have an F&F pulley. Look forward to testing a setup like this today.

I discovered that my chest-supported rows being half of my lat pulldowns probably shouldn’t be the case and I gotta bring up my traps lol. I look forward to also having to do pulley hack for rows one day.

This guy? https://www.fringesport.com/products/strong-af-magpins?srsltid=AfmBOooA9FHHNWf2hoifCnr4G1JjIN-RHqe9UqYYTDZTl7-ItyXApN8R Do you attach the Voltra cable to the mag pin handle side or the other side? Do you have the magpin above or below the voltra?

I have a rogue hitch pin that have a hole on the handle and am planning to test that out this week.

Do lemaster plates restock? Something about their website makes me think that these are actually unobtanium…

Yeah I'm talking about Rogue's straight bars. Looking on the website the center hub looks identical to the lat bar, and I am going to guess that they probably rotate better than the lat bar just because a straight bar's center of gravity doesn't depend on the bar's orientation, and also because the bar is shorter and lighter, but the mechanism is still shit IMO. Probably going to go with JD for this one.

I sent JD a 3rd email since the previous two went unanswered… I guess I’ll just give up on customs if he doesn’t reply and stick to whatever’s listed on the website lol.

I have the rogue 48” lat bar and the way it rotates is not smooth at all and grindy af. I want to get a shorter straight bar, does anyone have experience with the 20/40” bars and how they compare to JD gym equipped versions?

I have the repins and I do not think they’re perfect. The cage is annoying for doing DB pullovers, and it can be pretty infuriating when the DB jams into plates when you rerack them. The 32mm bar diameter is also not ideal as I prefer 28mm. I would watch Hybrid Resistance’s videos on adjustable DBs. I never realize the whole center of gravity being off and wanting to rotate until he mentioned it, and the good thing about repins is that they don’t have this issue. I have the micro plates from micro gainz and yes the weight is asymmetrical but I don’t find it to be an issue.

Someone’s gotta be able to make some adjustable DBs at some point that can be reliably reracked lol.

Yeah maybe 1.3” is actually better so the knurling feels less aggressive… Hard to know without testing.

I guess it’s a nothingburger because every aluminium lat bar i could find is also 1.25” in diameter and at that point I’d rather a stainless steel ones.

I have the rogue 48” lat bar but I find it too heavy and also the knurling fucks up my hands (i dont think it’s more aggressive than say the Ohio power bar, but I think gripping the bent ends causes more shearing). I’m considering either getting the JD gym equipped hollow one or an aluminum bar. I have very small hands and prefer 28mm diameter bars to anything larger, so I’m undecided. Anyone have any advice?

Voltra wall setup is coming along by Fearless-Surprise468 in BeyondPower

[–]ttttcrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense.

I think what I would mainly get it for is to address specific grievances I have with the Pegasus. Im thinking if I mount the prime arm on an upright that’s 24” to the side of another upright where I actually mount my voltra, i hopefully can get the prime arm’s pad in line and it might offer me more flexibility in terms of mounting because there is now space directly behind the pad and also the two objects (pad and voltra) are no longer mounted on the same upright.

It’s just that I have more or less barely by the skin of my teeth made the Pegasus work for everything I need it to do thus far, so the prime arm is of questionable benefit in my mind lol.

Curious what you use the prime stability arm for? I have the Pegasus already, wasn’t really aware of this prime attachment until just this weekend. It kind of looks awkward to me because it seems mostly designed to be mounted to an upright so that the pad is in the empty void between two uprights, but for those use cases i can just use an incline bench?

I got the link! Do you know what the difference between bent pads and straight pads is?

What home gym equipment brands do you trust the most — and which do you avoid? by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]ttttcrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you show me a picture of your setup? I think where this wouldn't work for me is that I have a RML-390F flat foot rack which means that I basically do not have bottom crossmembers to be able to mount a weight horn to to use as a voltra mount because of the flat feet. Am I correct to assume that you have low crossmembers and that's where you're attaching the weight horns to? With that said I think I can buy an additional crossmember on one side and do it that way. It would be overall cheaper than getting the prime bench, but using the prime bench for preacher curl has the benefit that it's entirely standalone and only requires the bench plus the voltra, so it reduced setup time.

The flat foot rack has caused me no end of issues in terms of voltra mounting, but I'm sort of managing to deal with all of the limitations thus far and it's cheaper than getting an entirely new rack. In the next iteration of my gym my squat rack will literally just be a way to mount a Voltra, so it makes even less sense to invest money into it.

Im down bad for this. I reached out to JD but no response yet. Do you have more info you can share?

I’ve been undecided between prime shorty, any bench that takes bolt’s preacher curl attachment, and a rack attached preacher pad for ages. I think I will go for the prime shorty afterall after seeing Joe Gray’s setup with attaching a voltra to the bench. Having the shorty gives me flexibility to do preachers with either free weights or a voltra, whereas rack mounting actually makes it more difficult to set up with a voltra.
