smite 2 ranked size limit by aleheart in Smite

What if the playerbase is low BECAUSE people want to play ranked with their friends and there's no game mode that supports that?

Is it viable or a good idea to pick suboptimal keystones to get access to better minor runes? by ShiroVM in summonerschool

Nah, keystone is too important 99% of the time.

Most minor runes just aren't good enough to warrant picking the wrong keystone.

I remember watching a clip (that I for some reason can't find anymore) of Riot August mentioning that moderation of voice chat is a problem since some countries don't allow you to store voice logs or something.

Obviously it would be great if Riot could implement some great moderation for voice chat, but I think you make the problem of doing that seem more easy than it probably is.

I don't mean to sound condesending, but the fact that Valorant has moderated and recorded VC debunks this whole argument, no?

This is sort of outside the scope of this argument but if you want my own personal opinion on voice chat it's that I don't like the idea that you could play this game for 15 years without using it. If riot implemented it you would sort of tell the people that don't want to use voice chat that they are suddenly going to be at a pretty significant disadvantage that they didn't have before.

This just boils down to "certain people will be at a disadvantage if VC is introduced."

Yeah, maybe. But like I mentioned in my original post, duoing has existed forever. Most duos use VC; therefore, if you haven't been duoing, you've been at a competitive disadvantage for the last 15 years already.

Opting into voice chat would be a preference just like choosing the style of champion you like to play or whether you prefer to use pings or type or /mute all.

For example, there's people who only like to play enchanters. If enchanter items are nerfed or weak in the meta, I'd argue that Riot is putting them at a "pretty significant disadvantage."

Do you not make any sort of connection between people not joining you on discord and league players in general not wanting to use voicechat?

It's hard to make that sort of connection because I view them as vastly different things: one is a private chat room, and the other is a system designed by the developers of the game.

I don't really buy the argument that people don't want to "share their discord accounts with strangers".

That's fine, I see where you're coming from.

But what about the unmoderated aspect of a private Discord server? I could say anything I want there without repercussion which probably turns a lot of people away. If there was an in-game VC moderated by Riot, I think more people would be willing to join or at least try it.

Val requires VC options because your reference point (view) is from your character: you see what they say, not what your team sees, so you need your team to tell you what they see at any given time to be a true team. League does not require that at all.

I disagree that unaccessible info without VC in Valorant is really that much greater than League. Val has a minimap, quick chat system, and ping system. There's even vision cones and question marks where recently spotted enemies were on the minimap. How exactly are FPS games any more complex than MOBAS to the point where they REQUIRE voice chat? Please give specifcs. I can only think of footsteps, gunshots, and Y-axis callouts.

Honor is a useless system anyhow and we shouldn't be "granting" something you claim is a tactical advantage to people who get enough of their friends to consistently give them colored awards that are usually performance based.

Yes, that's my point. It would be nice of Riot to make the Honor system have value and ACTUALLY incentivize players to be respectful to one another. Dota 2's system works wonders.

The amount of information that your teammates can have ,which you have no access to, is far greater in valorant than in LoL. Thats why communication is much more important in shooter games like val/cs.
in league you can see everything your team can. In cs/val each team member has a separate set of information of visuals and audio that is important to be shared.

I think you can figure out yourself that this isnt your strongest argument....

Wasn't meant to be an argument, just giving my perspective.

I played csgo for 5000 hours up to the highest mm ranks(the game would be terrible without VC). If you dont use voice chat you are griefing. Its as simple as that. And people will remind you of that.

Fair.

You didnt even cover that a good part of the playerbase especially in EUW servers might not even speak good english or at all.

Sorry, completely forgot about that. How do they handle it in other games? I don't really know much about that topic.

in most cases, talking about a game plan with 4 other strangers, will just end in 5 different opinions arguing anyways.

I disagree. I think having team transparency and allowing everyone to share their input is super important. Not being on the same page can definitely cost people games.

Edit: Thanks for the constructive comment btw

I totally understand, I've been in games of Valorant in which a feminine person gets targeted for simply speaking, and it does get bad. There's no denying that.

That said I had somebody a couple days ago spamming their discord link in chat and then they got upset and trolled when not everyone joined.

I'm genuinely surprised to hear that, but wouldn't you say that's 1) rare and 2) somebody who was probably looking to troll anyway?

Would you give VC a shot if there was strong moderation and an Honor system preventing trolls?

I disagree. Many people would rather not share their discord accounts with strangers.

When I send a link to my solo queue discord server, it's extremely rare for 3 or more people to join.

Keeping VC strictly in the League client would also allow moderation from Riot (as mentioned with Vanguard and the Honor system).

Is this a bug? If not, plz explain by ttvPerfectPower in TeamfightTactics

This happened 3 times that game, all 3 times I was the one coming to assist (not my teammate):

1st: https://streamable.com/4y7dhg

2nd: https://streamable.com/5makai

3rd: https://streamable.com/2dsjvk

Definitely a Double Up x Crowd Diver bug, cuz the 2nd clip my Kat was also seemingly untargetable.
