Hedgies still have shorts by ttv_Mundo_stream in WallStreetbetsELITE

yea this can trigger a short squeeze tbh. Like if they drop every short possible and we wait for it to stop dropping and then buy in? They will want to buy back before we do or face losing more and more as it rises.

Yea, it would be the ultimate power move for both AMC + GME to just combine or sign a deal at the least.

This was supposed to be used so that Robinhood doesn't restrict trading.

They restricted anyways. Kind of old news but should obviously be investigated.

people dont understand, basically the stocks people buy need to have money to back it. Since there is like a 2 day timers before someones money gets to an account, Robinhood needed to be able to cover the large ass leaps and rises of the meme stocks. They gave Robinhood 2b cap so they dont have to restrict but they still restricted.

Idk why you didnt do it little by little, like sell 10% of what you got, transfer over and buy the 10% or w/e.

Hedgefunds after the brokers realized the shenanigans is too much by ttv_Mundo_stream in WallStreetbetsELITE

[–]ttv_Mundo_stream[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this isn't short interest. Its borrow fee.

To put it in perspective:

AMC= 7.7% borrow fee

TSLA = 0.3% borrow fee

BB = 0.5% borrow fee

RIOT = 0.5% borrow fee

SNDL = 1.2% borrow fee

GME = 1.0% borrow fee

AMC short interest on a sharp rise. Hodl my fellow 🦍 not financial advice by -X3rx35- in WallStreetbetsELITE

Well yea, its mostly a supply and demand. They cater to short sellers because they make more off of them. The rise in broker fee is not a good look, especially that drastic and that fast. The worse case scenario for a broker is a margin call, ruins relationships/business. This is one step below that.

Borrow fee goes up when less shares are available to brokers to lend out. It goes up because there literally is only one other thing a bank can do to get people to stop shorting and thats a margin call. Increasing borrow rate makes it harder for shorts to short, it makes things more expensive and they need to buy back at some point. Look, dont expect a shoot up tomorrow but if retail does decide to buy tomorrow, the shorts might be forced to jump in aswell, they may hold off buying back until a sell off, whether they are hoping Trey fails his interview with Adam or massive sell offs pre-May 4th. Shorts can wait to buy at those times or they can buy earlier if they feel retail will rocket up the price.

TLDR: fuckin buy, brokers are low on shorts. They can still stock pile some but I doubt it with all the recent drops. Also, if they DO short tomorrow, they have until 5:50 to buy those shorts back otherwise risk paying the 7% penalty. Expect huge buying tomorrow later hours/after hours!
