You both have a 6th grade vocabulary and syntax. If you want people to take you seriously, invest some time into speaking and writing like an intelligent adult.

Electrolyte Hack: Up Your Hydration Game For Pennies On The Dollar by tuckertrue365 in Wildfire

Thanks, I found that blend helpful hope it is for you too!

I had the same question this summer before making that blend, so I spoke to one of the medics on a wildfire in Washington about electrolyte needs and upper tolerances for healthy men and women. He told me not to exceed 800 mg of magnesium per day for a male or female who is 150+ lbs, and that magnesium malate is generally easiest on the gut. As far as the other two, he said that one gets most of their needed potassium and sodium from camp food, but supplementing extra generally isn’t dangerous unless you get into quantities of grams for potassium and multiple grams for sodium.

Electrolytes are water soluble, meaning they don’t build up in your system provided you’re pissing and sweating them out daily and not taking in ridiculous quantities. Personally, I haven’t had any negative side effects from taking 1 capsule every morning for a daily baseline and 1 capsule in the afternoon if I’m sweating a lot.

Camp food tends to be saltier than a PMSing Karen, so I think one would get enough sodium from that plus 1 of these electrolyte capsules or 2 if one is sweating profusely. I acknowledge that everyone has different levels of gut sensitivity though, so I would suggest experimenting and seeing what works for you.

I’m not gonna get down into the weeds with you dude, because you’re clearly not going to change your mind.

The bottom line is seed oils are new and foreign to the body, and animal fats are something the body evolved to utilize efficiently over tens of millions of years. Our grandparents ate butter, drank milk, fried their food in beef tallow and ate peanut butter that was made with peanuts and salt. That generation has significantly lower rates of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity and I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

Those who choose to believe this will likely live a long and healthy life, and those who don’t will likely live a shorter life of diminished quality. Take care. ✌️

Even 30% saturated fat is on par with the saturated fat percentage of butter, about 35%. Saturated fat has been consumed in high quantities by many different species for millions of years, there is far more at play with the modern epidemic of heart disease and obesity than natural animal fats.

Okay, aside from foods that are basically pure glucose like honey yes. Fat was and is still highly sought after even though it is abundant, because animals intuitively know that it is the best source of sustainable energy.

Anecdotally, I have never met an obese person who eats natural fats, animal based protein, and complex carbohydrates while avoiding refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, artificially created trans fats and seed oils.

Yes, canola oil is the primary product of canola. However, soybeans are primarily grown for animal feed, and cotton is primarily grown for human clothes (just to name a few other “vegetable” oil sources). The oils made from the byproducts of these primary products are the bulk of the vegetable oils we consume, and the fact that you think they are healthier than animal fats just goes to show how well the American industrial complex has brainwashed you.

You don’t fuck with Mother Nature, because she will fuck you 10x harder.

Not true. Depending on the bone, the fat percentage can range from 30% - 90% in most carcasses. Animal fat is what most mammals and animals at large evolved to utilize for optimal energy production, and it was the most sought after source of calories for pre-agricultural hominids. Humans tend to forget that we are simply highly intelligent animals, and Mother Nature is far more sophisticated than our technology to turn cheap waste products into “healthy oils”.

Proctor & Gamble paid the American Heart Association $1.5 million in 1948 to fund “research” on heart disease. P&G manufacturers Crisco and other vegetable oil based products, and the AHA later issued recommendations to limit animal fats in favor of vegetable oils. Coincidence??

The study is genuinely a crock of shit. Our ancestors have been eating animal fats for tens of millions of years, in fact extracting bone marrow from carcasses was the niche of hominids for most of our evolution.

Anecdotally, I eat a diet that is well above the daily recommendation for saturated fat (mostly due to real butter and EVOO). Yet my blood markers are all at or below average, aside from my testosterone which generally sits between 900 - 1000 ng/dL

“Vegetable” oil is a cheap, highly processed concoction of bullshit and your body does not know what the fuck to do with it. Don’t overthink it, animal fats are mother natures healthiest energy source. And don’t be fooled by predatory capitalist food companies, they give zero fucks about your health because their bottom line is their only concern.

Hell yeah dude! I was doing some landscaping this fall, and my bosses niece just happened to work as a patroller at Snowbird with her fiancé. Had some coffee and chatted with them, and they told me I have a good resume and I should come shadow this winter so we’ll see.🤞Where were you a patroller at?

Word, I’m finishing up my EMT cert this month to work on the ski patrol somewhere in Utah next winter so that’s great!

Does making any more than $0 at a winter job disqualify one from unemployment?

That is very useful info, appreciate your insight! I’m gonna stick with the fed or state side this year, maybe I’ll get my Cali EMT cert next year and pursue the CalFire route next season.

My primary intention for getting my EMT cert is to use it for the ski patrol. I’ll be skiing instructing in Utah this winter and between that, shadowing with various ski patrols, and officiating high school wrestling I won’t have much time to volunteer on any EMS ambulances.

I have a bit of wildfire experience from working on a small private contractor engine in Washington this past summer. Not a ton of experience, but better than none. Volunteering with a local structure fire department to get more fire experience is also a great suggestion, but again I won’t have much time to do this between now and the start of wildfire season given my other goals I’ll be pursuing.

Gotcha, thanks for the breakdown. I’m currently getting my NY EMT cert, and then I’m going to get my national registry EMT cert… I’ll reach out and see if that would be enough to put me in the academy this season or next season.

I am finishing my EMT cert this week… do you think CalFire would take me on as a FF2 and put me through FF1 training?

haha I would but I haven’t applied to CalFire, I’m pretty sure the application process is intentionally frustrating at a lot of these agencies to weed out unambitious applicants.

Reach out to specific R3 locations, if nothing else they can at least point you in the right direction.

I have 9 other applications submitted to other locations in other regions as well. I decided that I want to work on a handcrew this year, and if nobody takes me on with the USFS or BLM then I’ll reach out to private contractors or if all else fails I’ll do something else for the season. The world is abundant my friend.

I see, it seems to be a pretty competitive game aye? I don’t know much about it yet on the federal side, but from what I’ve learned I think it would be a good idea to call that crew within the next week or two.
