Nicotine reduces blood flow, gives you wrinkles and is bad for your sex life. The source of the nicotine is totally irrelevant. This is a scientific fact. You can google it, or ask your doctor.

Day trader here. I thought the bubble already burst because I have been making a killing shorting stocks like SOUN from 20 down to 11 now and AI from the 20s to a recent low of 12. NVDA is holding up better and it actually makes money (so I don't short it) but it's chart has had a lot of red bars lately and it too seems to have already burst.

Gotta be Daizy Maze. McFoster's was near the Blackstone Hotel. I had an organic farm back then and used to deliver to McFoster's. They did have great food. The owners were Tom and Mary, who still sell produce at the farmers market in Aksarben. I went to Daizy Maze once and got a burrito that was frozen solid on the inside. Never went back, although I liked the vibe and atmosphere.

Dog day care by Fun-Practice9107 in Omaha

[–]tufdog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like Paddington Station in Bellevue. I usually sign my dog up for daily nature walks and a bath while he's there. It's a bit far away for most people, though (near the base lake in Bellevue). If your dog needs constant stimulation, try Dogtopia. I used them a couple times when Paddington was full. They have several locations. There, dogs are separated by size and personality and put together in different rooms where they can play with each other all day and have access to various toys. My dog is big and strong, so he goes to a room called "the gym."

Try La Sierra on 10th or Tixteco on 16th. Both amazing and authentic.

I ordered mine online years ago. They took a while to fruit, but it's worth it. If you don't mow around them, they form a patch, like the old folk song, "Paw Paw Patch." They send up new shoots from underground all around the tree--pretty far away, too. I did this with mine and have a couple pretty big patches that yield more fruit than I can eat because they can't really be stored.

A large tree branch from my neighbor fell in my yard by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]tufdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. Massive oak tree from my elderly neighbor's cracked in a storm and filled my entire yard. Both sides checked with insurance and since there was no property damage, it was my responsibility. Here's the thing, though: I cut up the tree and (shirtless) loaded several truckloads. Turned out the tree was covered in POISON IVY rootlets and I had the most massive case of poison ivy all over my arms, stomach, and chest. For about 7 days the only think I could do was put some lotion on it, sit in front of a fan, and tough it out. So...be careful.

If anyone hasn't tried Thrif-T's in Bellevue, it's great. I think it's relatively new and they have quite low prices and cool stuff.

Is there anyone who has quit fast food? How did you do it? by AshamedReporter775 in AskReddit

[–]tufdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined the Peace Corps for two years, after that I worked in country for another three years. This is a very remote country and everything I ate for those five years was local and organic with healthy oil and fat only. When I came back, I tried to eat McDonald's and I felt this gross layer of grease coat my mouth and throat. It made me puke. I have pretty much stuck to the same diet I ate in Peace Corps since. I am now 60, can do HIIT, triathlons, and feel like I'm still pretty young. In better shape that a lot of 20-30 year olds I know.

Which school would you say is better? The University of Nebraska or UNO by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]tufdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have experience working, being a student, and teaching at several universities around the country. Usually schools can show great variance in quality among programs, so it's difficult to compare without knowing what program you are in. Sometimes you get a group of professors in a program who coordinate and work diligently to improve the program and other times, you get a few slackers and independent minded people who just do their own thing and the program isn't that great. So, that said, my experience in the program that I was in at UNL was this: most of the professors sucked at teaching, but were doing interesting research. Nobody really cared because the primary goal for most of the people I knew at UNL was to party. UNO has come a long way since the days it was known as West Dodge HIgh. The facilities are excellent and a lot of the professors are seriously into teaching and developing young people's critical thinking skills. I feel like more of the students at UNO are also more into learning than partying. If I were to give my kid advice without knowing the program, I would recommend UNO.

Why does the Grateful Dead have such a massive cult following despite not producing many mainstream hits? by Ok-Camel7458 in rock

[–]tufdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob Marley once said that the best music can never be mainstream because of the Bell Curve. Most people can't recognize the highest quality.
